"I have bought gas logs and outdoor furniture from Forshaw in the past, and I value their quality and selection. But for getting my gas logs serviced, I found them significantly overpriced. Getting gas logs serviced in St. Louis seems to be very challenging right now, I assume due to a shortage of technicians; this means often waiting 2-4 weeks for a service. I called Forshaw as I was finding that problem in trying to get a simple service performed on my 12 year old log unit. Since I hadn't purchased this particular unit from Forshaw, though they knew I was a previous customer, I was routed to another rep to schedule the service. That rep didn't call me back as promised, so 1-2 days later I called to track her down. She then put me on the schedule for a date 2 weeks out. <br /> She didn't mention anything about pricing, so I asked, to which she seemed surprised that I hadn't been told pricing already - though I'm not sure when I would have been. She told me there was a $195 service call fee; I expressed surprise at how high that was, as multiple other shops I had contacted charged $125. I then asked if that would likely cover the cost of the simple repair, and the overwhelming impression I got was "no" - parts weren't covered, extra labor wasn't covered, a second service call wasn't covered. Needless to say, I went with someone else, who, by the way fully cleaned and serviced my logs for $125 flat in a single simple visit. <br /> Unfortunately I'd be hard pressed to use Forshaw in the future for service requests. Perhaps they charge the higher rate because they prefer to just service their own units. <br />"

"Landesign hit it out of the park. Laura Rogers listened well to sometimes conflicting input from my wife and myself and brought a professional design plan that excited both of us. Much to her credit she did not go screaming into he woods when we changed the plan multiple times, rather she rolled with the changes and made them seamless, even changes that occurred while the work was going on. We wanted a lot of native plantings and Laura did a creative job of researching and locating exactly the right things. The install team supervised by Shawn and led by Javier represented some of the best tradesmen on the entire house build, again multiple changes were always met with a smile and "No problem!" from Javier. Our house sits 200 ft on a bluff over the river so hardscape and landscape construction was "challenging" near the edge, again "no problem!" Problems ALWAYS arise on any job, George clearly runs a business that treats them in stride and everyone on his team deals with them instantly, professionally and throughly. I have owned construction companies including landscaping/hardscaping businesses and frankly George's business is one of the best ones I have seen with top notch people, equipment and processes (he has the best change order process I have ever worked with - simple and accurate) to execute well. I have full confidence in them and WILL use them again. Given my expertise I am often asked to refer design and construction professionals, Landesign will be at the top of the list for professional landscaping and hardscaping design and installation"
