"I purchased new appliances and thought it would be an easy install but then again things are never easy when your house is 150+ years old. On delivery day I learned that the stove, dishwasher and a blower underneath the stove were hardwired. GEN3 sends one of their awesome techs, George, to come out and give an estimate. I was impressed with his knowledge and reassurance that he could complete the job that I scheduled for him to return the next day to do it. He was on time and after donning work booties and reviewing the work with me, he went right to work. Afterwards he went over the completed projects with me then cleaned up his work area. I would definitely hire George from GEN3 again for future electrical issues."

"If I could give Brad and his crew(Anthony and David) an overall rating of A++++, I would! We have a 130 year old cottage style house, with knob and tube through the entire 2nd floor, the living room, dining room and basement. Brad and his crew arrived on the date appointed for the project, and then spent some time "brain storming" and setting their "game plan." They carefully thought out the project, and then proceeded with an amazing work ethic. Their business model is to minimize the cutting of walls/ceilings as much as possible, and to create little or no dust, dirt, or mess. If they drilled a hole, or cut a wall, they used powerful vacuums, after having carefully covered all furniture(they also ALWAYS wore foot coverings in the house). And then, EVERY night, they would put the furniture back, and clean any room where they had been working. They literally left the house in better shape each night than they had found it in the morning. And they made sure that we had power where ever we might need it. They spent several days crawling around our attic pulling wires to the upstairs rooms: a tight fit, even for pros like them! They sealed any and all holes or wall cuts, and then David plastered over each area. I would describe David as a master plasterer. When I repainted the small areas(and they were small), you could not even tell that they had been patched. On top of their amazing craftsmanship, Brad, David, and Anthony were polite, personable, and showed respect for our home and possessions. When they had finished(in less than two weeks), we actually missed seeing them each day! Having them work on our home was rally a great experience!"

"I brought them in to take care of a circuit breaker, check on an attic fan, adding 2 outlets to a bedroom and adding a gfci to the washing machine. The workers came out and did a great job. Whereas someone else wanted to do it on the exterior, they came in and did it inside. They ran into some oddities because of how the house was built and the unprofessional work of others, but they resolved them. The price is a little higher than expected, but it was worth it. Someone else told me we'd need a new electrical panel, but they saved us from unnecessary work. They explained the scenario in which we would need a new panel, and the amount of effort it would involve."

"We discussed our electrical project with customer service after submitted a detailed description with Home Advisors. We advised that we had all the electric fixtures already purchased. We reviewed our project, fixtures, our concerns and discussed dates for install. Costs for each install part was discussed with us. install was set up about 2 weeks from date of booking. We received a call from customer service that the staff were on their way on the date of install. The staff arrived and introduced themselves, very personable and friendly. The two installers put on booties and we walked thru the whole project - going over the install and they were able to answer questions easily. We received an approximate amount of time to finish the job as we had several ceiling fixtures, replace bathroom shower lites and exhaust fans, high hat lites, hallway lites, and several switches. The installers put down drop clothes for every job, had ladders for the ceiling lites, and cleaned up very well in all the areas. They placed the old fixtures in our garage as we are going to recycle these to Habitat for Humanity. We and the installers walked thru and checked out all the new electrical fixtures -everything worked perfectly. The costs were the same as the estimate - no surprises. We also discussed some other possible electrical jobs for the future. For privacy, we will not name the installers, just indicate their initials - K & R - would definitely have them back to do future jobs for us and we would recommend them to others."

"I contacted the company via their online contact form and received a call back on the same day. The office staff person, Michelle (?) was very friendly and worked with me on getting the right info for my situation. She explained what to expect from the technician including informing me of the diagnostic fee. The technician, Bill, called to announce his target arrival time which, quite nicely, was at the beginning of the 3-hour window I was given. Bill arrived when expected and made sure that he kept my house clean (laid down a mat over my door mat, put on protective shoe coverings, laid down a cloth under the ladder). He completed the replacement and offered to perform a complimentary 10-point evaluation on certain electrical components throughout my home. I agreed, and when he finished, he thoroughly and knowledgeably reviewed his findings/comments. Before he left, he made sure that all my breakers were on and cleaned the access panel to the attic of all fingerprints (nice touch!). I gave a B rating for price because I know that the actual fan was only about $100, and I was charged $693 for the fan + installation. But I'm not an expert on pricing, so it may be in line with the current market. With that said, I would highly recommend Wes Carver Electric."

"Chuck was fabulous. The work was clean and meticulous. We had the basement waterproofed, getting the house ready for sale. Chuck was engaging, often offering suggestions and things to consider / do to get the house ready for sale's inspections. He is the only electrician I would use - big or small jobs."

FAQs for attic or whole house fan installation projects in Philadelphia, PA

Installing an attic fan lowers attic temperatures and reduces moisture, protecting stored items and extending the life of roofing materials. It also prevents mold, mildew, and paint deterioration, enhancing energy efficiency and comfort in the home. This type of protection helps you avoid costly repairs in the future and maintains the integrity of your home.

Installing an attic fan may require multiple professionals. A roofing specialist or carpenter can create the vent and mount the fan securely, while a licensed electrician connects the system to the home's electrical supply. A dedicated attic fan installer may be able to tackle all of these areas themselves, so be sure to confirm what services they can provide. Hiring qualified professionals ensures the installation is safe and the attic fan operates reliably.

The lifespan of an attic fan depends on the type and how well it is maintained. Passive attic fans can last 40 to 50 years, while electric and solar models typically last 10 to 15 years. Regular cleaning and maintenance help ensure the fan operates reliably and safely. Ask your installation pro for their recommendations for ongoing maintenance and service to help your attic fan last for as long as possible.
