"A good experience from start to finish.  A tile installer recommended them to me and said his company uses them exclusively.  Showroom guy (Telford)  was very nice and helpful (not entirely prepared or accurate answering my slew of very specific questions, though, but in the process all my questions were answered just fine).  Measuring guy was courteous and efficient, explained how it would work.  I couldn't have a purely frameless shower, since I had a Schluter Curb that couldn't be drilled for any reason, so I needed a length of u-channel at the bottom of the stationery panels. Dale Alderfer helped me to make a change to the height of the enclosure at no extra charge.  Installers were detail-oriented, courteous and professional (tarps, cleaned up, removed their trash, etc.)  Price isn't cheap, but YGWYPF and what I got was good quality service. I can't speak to the durability of the glass b/c it's only been in 2 months, but so far, so good.

"We sold our house and a few days before closing, some idiot broke a living room window. It needed to be repaired ASAP. I posted my job and Manny responded. He came to the house on a Sunday afternoon, measured and emailed me an estimate the next morning. His price was fair and he said he could have the window in by Wednesday (closing was Thursday). When installing the window, Manny ran into a problem. He went ahead and got what he needed to complete the job and was back at the house at 6AM Thursday morning, just hours before the buyer's final walk through. The buyer never noticed. It was a great job. Manny is professional, his company does what it takes to make the job right and the customer happy. I recommend "A Pane in My Glass" without reservation. I don't think you can find better, individualized service. Thanks, Manny."

"The service was very efficient but I was not to thrilled with the contractor arriving extremely earlier then scheduled, do to him having a larger price contract at an early time as well. With proper scheduling i think that would make all customer base feel as valuable as the next customer. Which in turn would give Millenium Glass a perfect score in service installations & customer service."

"This installation demolished and replaced the existing tiled shower pan with a new marble pan and installed acrylic wall panels over the existing ceramic tile. A handicap grab bar and corner shelving were included. The installation was on time, within specs, and competently completed. Their installer did a great job with the installation as well as with clean up and respect for the job site. Communication with the firm throughout the process was not a problem at all. 4 years later, we remain completely satisfied with their product and would recommend them. However, they were at the higher end of the price -for- product range. Competitive lower pricing is most likely available."

"Made an appt. with Castle Rep, James, for 17 windows and vinyl siding. He spent 1 hour talking about how great his company and windows are before finally getting down to the issue. We were told that CASTLE makes and services their own window, with all the best technology and technicians available. The price per window for energy efficient came out to over $1,200 per double-hung window! And since they make their own products, we could not find a way to compare quality and price with other manufacturers. But his per-window price exceeds the average price of $500-700 by A LOT! When we balked, he made a call to his "manager" to see if we qualified for a "special promotional" discount. If we were to commit right there on the spot, we would get an additional 10% off! Still way to high. We said we would think about it (he got sad and snippy), and that we wanted to hear about the vinyl siding quote before we made any decisions. He told us he could not give us a siding quote until his company did an "eagle view" measurement, which would require another appointment! We had no intention of sitting through ANOTHER high-pressure appointment. High pressure, long-drawn out presentation and he would not leave us with anything in writing! No brochures, prices, nothing! He refused to put anything in writing and we could not have a break down of labor and costs. I even asked him if I could have a copyhh of the window warranty and he said "only if you purchase right now." And they did not come prepared with references or previous job locations! When we further researched the company, we found they did make very excellent products, but the #1 complaint was by far that they did not honor their lifetime warranty and that customer service was horrible. In the end, we chose not to do business.."

"I called after hours on a weeknight after my kids accidentally broke a window, and Tracy had someone here the next morning at 8am to replace it. Everything went great, I was very grateful and will call again for future home repairs."

FAQs for glass shower door or enclosure repair projects in Philadelphia, PA

The type of glass shower you choose depends on your household size, lifestyle, and budget. Custom designs and frameless doors will cost more to install and repair. Framed glass shower doors can be a more budget-friendly option.

If your glass shower has many people using it daily, you also want to opt for durable glass options, and you’ll need to stay on top of maintenance and repairs.

Regular cleaning and sealing are key to keeping a glass shower door in its best shape. A glass shower door looks great in modern bathrooms, but when the glass is covered in dried water spots or smudged fingerprints, it can make the entire bathroom look messy.

  • Apply water repellent: Water repellent costs about $5 to $10. Use it to help wick away water droplets from the glass.

  • Squeegee the walls: Keep a squeegee in the shower, and use it to remove water from the glass after each shower; this only takes a few minutes.

  • Weekly cleaning: Each week, use a glass-safe cleaner or a foam cleaning eraser to scrub down glass shower walls.

  • Monthly cleaning: Check caulking and reapply as needed to prevent leaks, particularly for frameless doors. Clean the tracks to prevent the door from sticking.

There are several glass treatment options out there that can make it easier to keep your glass shower door clean. Treatments can help keep soap scum, corrosion, and pesky little fingerprints at bay. You might pay as much as a 30% upcharge on the price of your glass shower door to add a protective coating.

Even with a protective coating, you have to clean your shower. If you are diligent about wiping down shower walls after use and giving the glass a more thorough cleaning every week, you can likely save money and skip the added glass treatment.

If your shower endures heavy use from multiple family members and guests, a protective coating can make it easier to keep the glass spotless.
