"So happy with BM Window Fashions. I ordered shutters from an online vendor and didn’t have them installed right away due to Covid restrictions. Boris was extremely responsive, was able to schedule and complete the install quickly. Boris and an installer on his team did such a beautiful job. I look forward to future projects with BM Window Fashions."

"From our very first interaction with our AWESOME estimator, Rob, the process couldn't have gone more smoothly with Declan and Chris doing the install and on through to dealing with their billing department for payment.  We especially appreciated their product knowledge in helping us select the best shutter for our needs and the best color too.  We did have a rain delay from the original install date, but communications were great and a new date set asap.  All interactions with employees have been professional and courteous, and Declan even accommodated a change we needed to do day of install which saved us money.  We just moved into a new home and are very unhappy with the quality of the painted finishes, so will definitely be calling Nolan Painting when we are ready to get it re-done correctly.  We also had our outside Christmas lights done by their "Shine" division last year.  What a great service since I don't want my husband climbing ladders to the roof and he didn't want to do it anyway.  Nolan Painting does much more than just painting and so far everything I've seen has been top notch!!!

"We requested bids from 2 companies with top reviews on Angie's List. The bids were about the same but we were much more impressed with the thorough inspection undertaken by Greg Impriano. He seemed much more interested in making sure we got the kind of roof we wanted and that it would address all of our concerns. He had specific recommendations for dealing with water infiltration from ice damming we had experienced during winter storms in the past and incorporated extra protection in those areas of the roof into our bid. When we changed our mind and decided to also install new skylights with the new roof, Greg came back and verified measurements to make sure the new skylights would fit well into the available openings. We also were impressed with the 5-star warranty the Impriano company is able to provide in conjunction with the shingle manufacturer. It is a very impressive warranty and one that gives us peace of mind that this is the last roof we will have to put on our house during our lifetime. Greg offered to arrange for samples of various shingles to be put on our roof to help us decide which shingles to use, but it wasn't necessary because there was a specific shingle we had in mind. Eric Impriano, Production Manager, showed up at the beginning of the project and visited frequently throughout to introduce us to his crew chief and to make sure our plantings were well-protected and that we were pleased with the work as it progressed. The crew was very industrious. Work proceeded smoothly and with a minimum of inconvenience to us. We are pleased with how seamlessly the trim on the new skylights line up with the trim on our interior finishes. Any questions we had during the work were promptly addressed by Eric or the crew chief, but there weren't many questions. We were impressed with all the work and the cleanup. Another crew came about a week later to do the gutter modifications we had requested as part of our bid. Again, all that work was done well and with a minimum of inconvenience to us. We are very happy with the installation of the new roof, new skylights and gutter modifications and are looking forward to many years of good protection thanks to the excellent workmanship and warranty.

***I'm going to add a note here for those considering whether to install new skylights with a new roof. At first, we decided not to replace our skylights with the new roof because we were not having problems with the skylights and assumed they would continue to perform well throughout the lifetime of the new roof. After both companies that gave us a bid suggested we consider replacing them, I did considerable independent research about the issue. The conclusion I reached from that research is that good skylights last longer than the lifetime of a roof, but probably not as long as the lifetime as two roofs. As most of our skylights were installed with the original roof, they were fine now, but likely were not going to remain problem-free throughout the lifetime of our new roof. In fact, there was a pretty good chance they would have to be replaced during the lifetime of the new roof, at considerable extra expense and impairing the new seamless roof covering we wanted to achieve. (Also, probably impairing the roof warranty as well.) We, therefore, decided that installing new skylights with the new roof was a good investment.

"The shades are great. The advice given was particularly useful (where to hang blinds that have cords and not, where to enable blinds to open from the top or bottom). The installer himself arrived ahead of schedule (after calling to make sure it was okay), moved quickly, and provided counsel on how the various blinds works. All in all an entirely positive experience. No cognitive dissonance. I'd use these guys again."

"After some delay, we finally met to discuss the work to be done. I am updating the upstairs first and wanted
someone who was affordable, easy to work with and professional. His price was 2/3 less than 3 other
contractors who are listed here!

The initial price did not include replacing some baseboards, painting 2 extra interior doors. After agreeing on
the price and giving a deposit, we set a date of 08/18/14; He and his helper arrived around  8:30 am.
He came every day around that time and was finished by 5:30 or so. I had to let them in and then go to work
so I trusted them to have access to my home all day. They did not have a key. The 1st day Cesar locked
my front door so I didn't have to worry about the door being unlocked(door doesn't auto lock when closed)

When I came home from work, they were done for the day and gone. They cleaned up very well.
Everyday, I saw progress. If I had concerns or wanted to change things, Cesar was ok with it.
I picked out and purchased the toilet, vanitiy and fixtures. He picked up those items from the store
for me. He purchased the paint, drywall, insulation, etc. He did not have a "crew" with a foreman.
Just him and 1 or 2 other helpers. The whole process took 2 weeks.
Our communication was really good, we called, texted and exchanged pics so we were both on
the same page during the process.  He made suggestions and listened to me, very important.
With the carpet removed, I did not know how the wood floors would be, they needed refinishing
so Cesar contacted a refinisher and was present thru some of that process. He didn't leave me
hanging.
In addition, he moved my furniture back upstairs and helped me with things like installing drapery
rods, curtains,vanity mirror and transoms.
I was concerned about the whole process as a woman, but Cesar was concerned that I was happy
and if I was not, he made sure that I was. That was important to me.
With that said, I decided that I would have Cesar and his team to update downstairs as well.
Also, do other small odd jobs. He is now my handyman.

"Mark Snyder at Handy Helpers LLC did a fantastic job on our remodel in Downingtown, PA. I shared my vision with him for the space, and he executed it beautifully. Mark was professional, prompt, and his price was very reasonable. I would hire him again without question and recommend him to friends and family!"

FAQs for indoor shutters repair projects in Philadelphia, PA

Yes! If your shutters have minor issues like broken hinges or misaligned panels, they can usually be repaired to restore their function and appearance. Repairing your shutters is often a cost-effective way to maintain their durability and curb appeal. However, for vinyl and composite shutters with extensive damage, it might be more practical to replace them to ensure they perform well in the long run.

Replacing a shutter costs $250 to $700 on average, and this cost covers both removal and installation processes. The expense includes proper disposal of the old shutter and ensures that a new, secure shutter system is installed. Additional fees may arise based on disposal requirements and professional service protocols.

Replacing shutters is not a complex undertaking when proper care is taken. The process requires careful alignment, precise fit, and secure fastening to ensure that the shutters function correctly and enhance the home's appearance. Attention to detail during removal and installation is critical, and skilled professionals provide the expertise needed to maintain both safety and design integrity.

Window shutters cost between $25 and $500 per panel, and this price range reflects the variety of materials and design options available. The cost stated excludes additional hardware and installation fees, which ensure the shutters are securely fixed and aesthetically pleasing. High-quality components lead to long-lasting performance while professional installation safeguards proper alignment.

Window shutters last between 20 and 25 years on average when they are properly maintained. Regular cleaning, timely repairs, and refinishing help protect the shutter's integrity and appearance throughout its expected lifespan. Consistent upkeep preserves functionality and ensures that shutters continue to provide protection and enhance the home's curb appeal over the long term.
