"I originally found Mark on Angie's List, with all the great reviews, I had to check him out.  I am a first time home  buyer and Mark helped me with weighing my options with FHA or Conventional.  We ended up going conventional with 5% down, which saved us a lot of money.
I had another quote from another Mortgage lender, which I shared with Mark.  I also told Mark we have 30 days to close, so he definitely had his work cut out for him.  Mark ended up winning the job, he got me the best rate and cheapest closing costs.  He also promised me 30 days closing, which I was very happy he was able to do.  Everything went smoothly, and he was quick to pick up the phone and give me advice throughout the whole process.  He was very upfront with everything, all of the costs were outlined and there were NO hidden fees at the closing table.  I would highly recommend Mark, I am recommending all my family and friends to use him!

"It went well. Painting was done well with no spills or messes. Touch-ups to plaster at times needed to be smoother.  However, once this was pointed out, touch-up was improved. Price was fair and Rick worked hard to get the job, met the lowest estimate of five others.

"This was my third time working with this contractor and each project was a pleasurable experience! As was the case with the other two, they started this project on time and finished on time! All the work was done according to strict Mount Lebanon code. They made suggestions based upon their experience i.e we wanted a six foot high shadow box fence but while Mount Lebanon code allows for a six foot high privacy fence of just about any style, they do not allow, by code, a six foot high shadowbox fence. Steve Hilpert proceeded to build us a 4 foot high shadowbox fence (the maximum height allowed by code) with a custom built 2 foot high trellis section which Mount Lebanon subsequently approved. The fence looks beautiful!
I was nervous about cutting a big hole in the wall of our addition to install the sliding glass door. Now the door looks like it has been there all along! It came out PERFECTLY!
The deck is also beautiful and solid as a rock! We had an issue with the location of our two central air conditioning units off the back of the house. The other contractors (which I found here on Angie's List as well) said they would just build over these units. Not knowing anything about central air conditioning this seemed reasonable to me. Steve was the ONLY contractor who told me that you absolutely CAN NOT block the air flow above the units! Not only that, he was honest enough to tell me that moving the units should be done by a qualified HVAC contractor. Now that is a contractor you can trust!
All work was completed on time and within budget. The same crew arrived early each day and were polite and professional. The job site was spotless at the end of each day!

"We had a fantastic experience with BKG Design (North Hills Location). Our kitchen designer, Noelle, came up with a great design given the small size of our kitchen that was right in line with our expectations. Throughout the entire process she was there to give design tips and help us create the modern look we were envisioning. Given the age of our previous kitchen we needed a fair amount of work done including demo, electrical, plumbing, and some floor work on top of the new cabinets and countertops. What I loved about Noelle and BKG was there was never any pressure or upselling along the way. All of our options were laid out to us from least expensive to most expensive and any part of the project that we wanted to do ourselves or hire an outside contractor for they were happy to accomodate. We ended up choosing BKG for the entire remodel and I am so happy that we did. Noelle did a fantastic job of project management as the entire remodel fell exactly to plan from both a time and cost perspective. Noelle would check in frequently to make sure we were aware of what was next to come, any upcoming decisions we had to make, and clarify items if there was any potential for confusion. In addition to project management, the install itself went very smoothly and that was thanks to the wonderful installers, Bill and Chris. Given that I work from home I was able to witness their work each day and I have nothing but praise for everything that they did. They showed up on time every single day and did not skip a beat from the moment they walked through the door. They were always quick to answer any questions I had and even go so far as to explain how things are done or provide advice as I like to learn a bit myself. Their knowledge of what they were doing was very apparent and impressive and it shows in the final product. "We used The Construction Company to renovate the main living space in our home. They removed a load-bearing wall between our office and family room, replaced the flooring, added a new window and constructed built-in storage tailored to the space. They did all of the painting, trim and electrical work (adding recessed lighting and even mounting our TV/components). John was able to provide suggestions we hadn't thought of to use the space more efficiently, such as reducing an opening to the room, adding a barn door that would maximize the available space for furniture, and constructing a built-in desk area in an otherwise awkward space that was created by our powder room. We couldn't be happier with the result! Not only did the end product exceed our expectations, but John was extremely professional. "My husband and I were looking for a qualified carpenter who could take on all aspects of a major bathroom renovation except for laying the tile because we already had a tile guy to do that.  The positive reviews on Angie's List led us to Galen.  The fact that he could also do electrical and plumbing was a bonus.  His endless knowledge and abilities exceeded our expectations and we were very pleased with his work.  He always arrived on time, put in a full day's work, and cleaned up before leaving. Our master bathroom is beautiful and looks and functions like something you would find at a resort spa.  We have him on "speed dial" and will definitely call him again for any major or minor repairs our house may need.  We look forward to working with him again in the near future.
