The latest involved renovating a garden room, which included repairing and painting walls, hanging new doors, re-plumbing a sink, installing recessed lights, rebuilding an outdoor stoop, and lots more. "I purchased their big deal for chimney inspection and cleaning ($99).  They contacted me promptly and we arranged for a date for the service.  They arrived on time and began the service quickly.  Both the office staff and the chimney sweeps were personable and professional.  Following the cleaning and inspection the senior tech recommended replacing the existing chimney crown and replacing some missing mortar between flue pipes.  I accepted their recommendation and estimate ($240, which included a $150 credit from the big deal) and we arranged a second visit 2 weeks later.  I was not able to be on-site for the visit, but it was not required.  They arrived and performed the repair work as scheduled.  I arrived home to find the work completed and the area cleaned up.  The crown looks a lot better now.  I discovered a masonry hammer someone had accidentally left behind and the company sent someone around to pick it up when I called.

situation with my house and turn it into an opportunity to create a home that I love. A little backstory: I bought my home in Hyattsville in 2009. It was a single family detached colonial with a three-story addition on the back-side of the house.  In 2010, I was told by a county inspector that the addition was un-permitted. It wasn?t clear until 2012 just how faulty the construction of the addition was. Long story short, it became clear that the repairs needed to bring the addition up to code were going to cost 150K or more. It took me a year find a way to finance the repairs. Once I had, I hired an engineer and architect to draft rough plans to inform estimates. Enter GSBuilders.

When I met with Chris for the initial walk-through of my home, he was sympathetic, attentive, and optimistic. I felt immediately at ease and could tell that he was an expert who would take great care in fixing the mess I?d inherited. He recommended a complete demolish and rebuild, adding valuable square footage and ensuring that things would be wholly right. He was the only contractor to suggest a complete rebuild. The added value was double the added cost! When his estimate came in as one of the most competitive for a rebuild, I was delighted.

Chris and Nicoleta made their support clear from the start. Chris spent his own time cleaning up the messes in the plans drafted by the architect and engineer I'd previously hired. He and Nicoleta both helped me navigate a personal health crisis in the middle of the project, meeting me on site to provide reassurance and welcoming me to their offices regularly with advice and espresso. Nicoleta spent hours helping me coordinate finishes. She acted as my designer at no extra charge. even making trips to tile stores and walking me through other finished project sites (with owner's permission) for inspiration. Nicoleta has a generous heart, exquisite taste, and great strategies for creating beautiful spaces on a budget.

I also owe a debt of gratitude to William Reyes, the foreman assigned to my project. When Chris and Nicoleta had to tend to a family crisis of their own, William stepped in and held my hand through every step of the project through completion. Every renovation has its hiccups and I always knew I could count on William (Mr. William as I took to calling him because he always called me Miss Pamela) to come up with a great solution that would keep the project on track. In some cases the obstacles became opportunities for improvement! I couldn?t have asked for better.

I could write for pages and pages about the specific ways in which GSBuilders saved my house and my sanity. Thanks to Chris and Nicoleta, my grief over this unexpected financial blow has become delight in my beautiful home.  I am forever grateful and cannot recommend their services highly enough. I can, however, offer individuals venturing into a project with GSBuilders some advice that will make everyone?s life easier.

My only regret is that I didn?t find and work with GSBuilders and their engineers and architects from the start. They have a well-coordinated team and the quality of the work for the price can?t be beat. Save yourself the headaches and trust them with it ALL!

2. Know the specifics of your budget and start collecting photos of spaces and finishes you love.



Nicoleta can work magic within your preferred style and budget, especially if you have specific price points for finishes and have a clear aesthetic. And even if you don't, Nicoleta will help you figure it out. That is tremendous added value.

3. Keep the GSBuilders team on speed dial and never hesitate to call.

Chris, Nicoleta, and William all made it clear to me from the start that they were willing to help at every turn, but sometimes I didn?t reach out because I didn?t want to be a bother. MISTAKE! It became clear that transparent and regular communication made everyone?s lives easier. The team always got back to me within hours if not minutes and was happy to be in the loop. A connected team is an empowered team.

4. Stop by the office. 



The espresso is hot and strong and you may even come on a birthday and get a cupcake! In any case, you?ll get a warm welcome and all the support you need to navigate your renovation.

"I had obtained several estimates for the rebuilding of our brick side porch and steps. Mid Atlantic seemed to know more about what was causing our issues with the brick porch and how to fix it correctly. Their customer representative, Alex, was very professional and maintained contact with me during the entire process. He also helped to solve another issue we had with the porch. The top section of the porch was pulling away from the house due to the lower brick walls. His team of contractors were able to reattach it to the house while already on premise, saving me the time and effort to find another contractor to do the work. "Our kitchen renovation with CRG Remodeling was a joyful and delightful experience. Honestly. Cornelio's professionalism, knowledge, accuracy and insight are highlighted by his warm, caring personality and desire to please. When have you ever heard that about a contractor? We have lived in this house for almost 40 years so this kitchen renovation has been long desired. We had a basic layout plan, but Cornelio patiently advised us when we made the inevitable tweaks (some of which were considerable). Cornelio's suggestion for cabinetry, (which was, of course, a big ticket item), was perfect for our 1950s knotty pine kitchen/living area. Rather than installing tile, he suggested we extend our barn board wooden floor into the new area to keep it uniform. We were worried it wouldn't look right with a different wooden pattern but agreed to put an edge separator if needed. The floor installation team came and perfectly matched the 60 year old floor! Cornelio improved our vision with his suggestions and gave us a kitchen we never dreamed could look so good. His crew worked 6 days a week; they were consistent, prompt and thorough. They never complained or refused a request, even when I had a change of heart over a plumbing arrangement that had already been completed. Our house is small. When the crew was here, we had to work around each other at times. The men were all so respectful, polite and caring. They were diligent about trying to keep down the level of dust and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of every day. His guys didn't blink at the prospect of replacing numerous exterior support logs (we live in a log house), that had dry rotted. They had to refashion pine logs my husband had harvested from a farm years ago for this purpose. When Cornelio saw the logs, he said: "No problem. We will make them work." Cornelio said this many times throughout the process, with each new request I made. And things always "worked out." After the crew repaired the extensive dry rot damage to the exterior of our house, I came home and found they had stained/painted, not just the area that was repaired, but the entire back of the house! When I asked Cornelio how much more it would cost, he said, "No extra cost. It had to be done to look right." This was their habit in all that they did. They did it, "right." Cornelio's work ethic influences each member of his crew. These men are efficient, trustworthy and professional. We had a lapse in time for the installation of our soapstone counters, which we had previously contracted separately. Cornelio's guys perfectly prepared the cabinets for the counter installation crew and it all went seamlessly. They returned to finish the job and completed every one of our detailed requests in two days! I highly recommend CRG Remodeling for any of your renovation needs. We've already asked Cornelio for an estimate to redo our basement. We know we have found our contractor for life!"

"Great, provider was very friendly and did a great job.  Left no mess behind and told me about the damage to the inner parts of my chimney.  He said it needed to be replaced but wasn't being a pushy salesman and even said to get some quotes and call them back he I don't find a better deal.  They were on the expensive side when it came to replacing the panels tho.  But overall I would use them again to clean my chimney.
