"My mailbox fell apart and could not be repaired. It needed a new post and everything. This occurred the first week of December and although the ground was not yet frozen, I was concerned that it could soon become frozen.  This is Wisconsin, after all. I called all the highly rated handyman providers, and they all were booked for at least two weeks and some were busy through January or February. I decided to take a chance on Property Image, even though they had only a few reviews. The entire process went really well. They could not set up an available date for three days or so, but they communicated with me so I knew they were coming. I also could not be there during the work, which was not a problem for them. They offered to buy a new mailbox for me, but I wanted to choose one myself. I bought one (they purchased a post), and left it on my front porch in the morning. I came home that evening and it was installed perfectly, just the right distance from the street, level and sturdy in the ground. The landscaping around the post looked like it was barely touched. They billed me about a week later. It all worked out and I love my new mailbox <br />"

"Very satisfied with cost and workmanship.  Original contact was to repair wind damage on shingled roof.  Unlike other roofing contractors I contacted, the response was fast.  The 40 plus years of experience showed as the temporary repair was done immediately without any hassle of cost.  The cause of the wind damage was shown and explained as improper nailing of shingles. To my surprise it was suggested, that because of a current materials special, it would be more cost effective to install a new metal roof over the old shingles rather than replacing the old shingles.  A new metal roof, with all of its advantages, cheaper than new shingles! <br /> I said I was interested, and they took a lot of measurements.  A couple days later I received an estimate via E-mail. I also asked about financing.  The only option was  like a credit card application (5% up front and high interest after 1 year).  After working out alternative financing from my bank, I then responded via E-mail to proceed.  They came out again and made more measurements. They wanted advanced payment for the materials with final payment upon completion. <br /> A couple weeks later the new metal roof install began.  It was a three man crew, they worked professionally, took their time and did it right.  The weather caused multiple delays extending the work over about 3 weeks.  The new roof is impressive, several people stopped by to ask for name of contractor. <br /> <br />"

"40 year old cabin was in need of a facelift.  The siding was starting to deteriorate and we had roofed the house about 10 years earlier with faulty shingles.  The interior was in ok shape, but needed some renovation, and we wanted a second bath added. <br /> With a wedding approaching in June and a tight timeline, we asked Griffin Construction for a commitment to be done with the project by May 1.  Troy worked out an aggressive schedule which I must say  I had my doubts about, but he was true to his word.  The project went as Troy had promised, even with a few somewhat major unforeseen issues popping up. <br /> We started the project near the end of February, and things really started moving.  The weather in NW WI in early 2014 was far less than ideal for a building project, as it was an extremely cold, snowy, long winter.  All the same, Troy persevered and shuffled tasks to meet his deadline. <br /> In terms of communication, we were doing the remodel remotely as we live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.  Troy was extremely cognizant of making sure a clear connection was made between us.  Any time an issue came up that needed addressing, Troy contacted my wife and me for confirmation, and did a great job expressing the concern and listening to our opinions on how to handle it. <br /> Two months after we started this endeavor, Troy completed that project on schedule and on budget.  There were some extras which we were well aware of relating to the unforeseen issues mentioned and modifications to the plan we'd decided to make, but I was very pleased with both the fairness of costs and receptiveness to our changes that Troy's team gave us. <br /> Three traits I'd use to express Troy's work:  Integrity, Punctual, Honest."

"<p>Called to have estimate for work done.  I had made a list of everything I wanted included.  I received estimates from</p> three companies.  His was the middle quote and planned to complete the work in a reasonable amount of time.  All the workers were professional and courteous.  He kept me updated with the progress and did not go over budget as a lot of companies do."

"I highly recommend them to others. Their prices for the cabinets were second to none. Their timing and coordination was great. They acted the general contractors for electricians, plumbers, and floor and tile people. They made sure that everything was done to the highest quality. They were on budget. I can't believe that we finally have such a beautiful kitchen. They are high recommended."

"Initial planning was started Gaffney Construction had very detailed plans drawn up showing the project was capable of fitting into the required space available and meet all building and structural requirements. Sub contractors were brought in and quotes were submitted, all prices were within the financial guidelines I had set. Gaffney Construction went to the village and applied for a building permit. Problems arose when it was discovered my property was in a flood zone, Gaffney construction got all needed information together and came up with a plan that met with construction and flood zone guidelines and got the project approved. Construction began on the initial date that was set. All work was done in a safe and professional way. A few unforeseen problems did come up and were taken care of meeting all construction guidelines. The work was completed in just 5 construction days a day early. The addition to our room came up looking like it was always there. Excellent work!!"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Rice Lake, WI

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
