"I reviewed several HVAC companies on Angies List and based on the number of reviews and content of the reviews I selected Brower Mechanical. The technicians arrived within the time window provided by the service dept. They called 15 minutes prior to arrival. I received a friendly greeting and handshake by both techs. They listened patiently while I provided a brief history of the unit, age and previous troubles/problems. They seemed appreciative of the information and went about their business. After completing the unit inspection and service they inspected the ducts and found four that, in their opinion, need replacing. I have been in the attic before and their inspection confirmed what I had seen earlier. We discussed a recurring problem I have had with the inducer vacuum nipple becoming plugged. The technician made some suggestions that could be implemented when and if I decide to replace a noisy inducer motor.
At this time I have made an appointment to have the four ducts replaced. While making this appointment I mentioned how satisfied I was with the technician that performed the inspection/service and was asked if I would like to have this technician assigned for future service visits. I, of course jumped at the idea. I find this action very refreshing and a legitimate sign/trait of a company that is focused on complete customer satisfaction.

I highly recommend them."

"Mark had called me because I had requested a quote for a service regarding my broken thermostat. I failed at installing a Nest thermostat. I turned off the wrong breaker and caused a spark. After installation, the unit was not receiving any power. I had a rival company quote me $85 for the service visit and potentially another $150 for a replacement transformer. Mark let me know that it was most likely a blown fuse that I could replace myself for a couple dollars. He instructed me that I would most likely have to just find my heater and find the panel with the blown fuse. I was surprised the they weren't trying to get some easy money and charge me for such an easy fix. Marc was right though. I was able to get into my attic and find the blown fuse. The fuse was less than $5 at an appliance repair store, and I was able to fix it myself! Based on this experience, I trust this company completely and will be going to them for any future needs. Marc seems to be an honest and experienced guy. For that reason, I think, they deserve your business. If you have a choice to go with this company or another for your repair, know that you'll be taken care of properly here."
Old AC location in front of gate and next to pool equipment. Client opted to extend the lineset and electrical saving a lot of money instead of running new power and lines.

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Rio Linda, CA

Coils work to absorb heat into the refrigerant that flows through them, moving heat from one location to another. For air conditioning, the evaporator coil inside the air handler in your home absorbs heat. It then transfers the heat outside to the condenser coil, where it releases it. The opposite process happens for heat pumps. When the coils get dusty and dirty, it reduces how well these components work.

Skip regular cleanings, and dirt, debris, and mineral deposits will blanket your evaporator and condenser coils. When that happens, the coils can’t shed heat efficiently, so the system works harder and your energy bill climbs. Over time, overheating strains the compressor and can trigger a full breakdown—an avoidable repair that often costs far more than a simple annual cleaning.

AC coil cleaning is an investment that pays for itself in the benefits it provides. Dust‑caked coils force your AC to run longer, so you spend more on electricity and rack up extra wear. A quick professional cleaning restores efficiency, trims monthly bills, and eases strain on expensive parts. Over the long haul, that small yearly fee delays pricy repairs and stretches the unit’s lifespan, making coil cleaning one of the smartest HVAC tune‑ups you can schedule.

Watch for higher electric bills, rooms that stay warm no matter how low you set the thermostat, or an AC system that runs nonstop. Extra humidity and frost on the coils are also red flags. Catching these clues early lets you schedule a quick cleaning before the system overworks itself and triggers an expensive breakdown.

Your AC cleaning technician starts by shutting off the power to the unit and removing the faceplate. Compressed air and a vacuum hose blast away loose debris, followed by a coil-safe, no-rinse cleaner that dissolves stubborn grime. After the solution has soaked in, the professional wipes the fins, reassembles the housing, and restores power, leaving the system ready to cool at peak efficiency.
