Small jobs welcome

"I have no idea how many visits, appointments, emergency calls for help or just plumbing issues we have had over more than 25 years at two residents. They have always been dependable, punctual and had a great eagerness to provide exceptional service. Recently upgraded a plumbing fixture and it works great. The follow-up calls have been very much appreciated. Being a diamond club member has been well worth the money spent. I don't have any pictures."

"Fantastic honesty! I called J and D Masonry for an estimate and they came out same day! Jeff was very honest about the work and was able to inform me that what I was looking to have done wasn't needed. I have some basement walls that are starting to crumble some. Jeff informed me they still had great integrity and if he were to come in and coat the walls in more cement it would just be an aesthetic band-aid. I was looking to have the walls recoated in cement to make sure that paint would adhere to the walls to make the basement look nicer. He said it was not needed and said he was happy to come out if I ran into problems painting but recommended I go ahead and paint the walls. Fantastic honesty and I would be happy to do business with him in the future!"

"Nearly three years ago, I asked JES to install a waterproofing system around my basement (in 2016). After they did this, there was no further flooding or leaking of ground water into my basement. In addition, the dehumidifier makes the whole house smell fresh."

"For the most part all went well. The original plan was to install all wall anchors, but they ran into rock around the majority of the foundation. Were very straight forward with notifying me about the problem, was presented with my options and felt as if I was not getting any kind of run-around or bull. The cost was adjusted downward (as the carbon fiber strips are less expensive to install), even though they had dug the holes for most of the anchors. Installation of the strip and the anchors seem to be very well done. <br /> After several rains, the holes for the anchors had sunk down quite a bit. I called the company and they sent someone out to top off the holes. Could have used a bit of grass seed as well, but I'll not knit pick that too much. <br /> The issue I did have was that when they installed the carbon fiber strips, they was an incredible amount of dust from grinding the slots in the walls. I have a large amount of "stuff" in my basement, including a tv, other electronics, excersize equipment, pots, plates, bookshelves, etc... all of which was covered with a healthy coating of dust. When I called to let them know, they told me they were not responsible for cleanup. This would be OK with me had they prevented a good potion of the dust from getting all over everything, but for what I paid for the work, I did not expect to spend days cleaning everything up. I wouldn't mind if we were talking about vaccuming a floor or something, but there was dust in every nook and cranny of an entire basement full of stuff. <br /> All in all, the work was done well and the price was fairly good compared to others I had received. If a bit more care would have been paid attention to the cleanup, or protection of my items, it would have been a very good experience. <br />"

"It was a tough job, but they figured out another route to run the supply above the floor. It worked out very good. They were able to work this emergency repair in earlier than he had told me it would be. So, that was a good thing. They run a good Christian business and you can trust him to do a good job at a fair price. I will definitely call them the next time I need any plumbing done."

"Kitchen sink was slow dto drain. He ran a  snake through the drain and cleared out the pipe. he also found that the breather for the pipe was bad. He had one on his truck but he found that the new part was defective. He showed me where it went on the pipe and how to install it. I will go tomorrow and get a new one. This will save me another service call. He made sure that the main line going to the septic was clear. He gave me tips on some other plumbing problems and some easy fixes that I could do if I wanted to help save me money. He was very professional and I would use him again for any other plumbing problems that I couldn't fix myself. He had a very busy schedule and was totally booked up for the week but since mine wasn't an emergency he worked with me and was able to squeeze me in this week instead of waiting another week. I appreciated his efforts. I highly recommend him. His price was very reasonable also. <br />"

"We are pleased to recommend Triangle Reconstruction with our highest praise. It seems too simple to say that they do what they said they’d do, but that’s exactly what happened. Our home is around 50 years old. Ours was a large job - around a month and $30,000. We had Triangle Reconstruction come in after another moisture company provided mold remediation and a humidifier. I wish we’d contacted TR to start with. We provided TR with a structural engineering report. They created a plan to exactly meet all of engineer’s concerns. TR used temporary supports and replaced seal plates, girders, and joists for over half of our home. In addition, they poured footers and built new columns. They also added a few additional girders to firm up our floors. They removed and replaced our insulation. They sealed our porch and crawl space, replaced our vapor barrier, and installed a moisture meter. They wrapped our electrical cords and hung them. The people at TR are remarkable. A+++++"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Roanoke, VA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
