"Water was backing up into my tub and shower, and clear water flowed from my cleanout when I opened it. I didn't know if it was a clog in the main drain pipe or a problem with my septic system. I called Earls because of the plumbing services reviewed on angies list, and because, in addition to plumbing repairs, their own web site said: <br /> < <br /> For complete service, maintenance, and repair of your septic system and leach field, call Earl's Performance Plumbing today. At no charge we will send a technician out to perform a complete septic tank and septic system anaylsis to determine the condition of your septic tank, leach field, leach lines, and related plumbing. All of our work is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee - fixed right or it's free, so call now: 343.0330. <br /> - <strong>Septic tank repairs <br /> -Leach field inspections & repairs <br /> -Septic system maintenance </strong> <br /> -Escrow inspections <br /> -Sewer hook ups <br /> -Excavating and backfill <br /> Call Now 343.0330 <br /> > <br /> I figured I was covered... <br /> I described my problem, and said that I didn't know if it was a clogged drain pipe or my septic. They were very nice, and seemed professional, and prompt. <br /> They sent a nice, polite, repair man in a couple of hours, who snaked out my cleanout, told me the drain was clear, and then told me my septic tank was full, that was the problem, and they don't handle that. He told me I would have to have my septic tank pumped out. <br /> 20 minutes and $118 later I have to find someone who can actually do the job, having wasted the time and money. <br /> I mistakenly thought that complete service, maintenance and repair of your septic system meant they could fix my septic if it needed it. <br /> Update on 4/10/14: <br /> I had another company come up to pump out the septic today. When they lifted the lid, they found that the DRAIN was clogged, they showed me the clog, a tangle of roots, I watched them clear the drain. I watched the water, etc. run out. They told me that my backup was caused by the clog. So Earl's did not even do what they charged me for. <br /> I feel like I was taken advantage of: <br /> -either the technician did not know how to snake out a drain, or <br /> -did not want to do the work it would take to clear the drain, or...? <br /> <strong> <hr /> UPDATE 4/22/14<br /> </strong>I received a note with an apology and a refund of my charges from Earl's, which was very professional, and based upon <br /> this I would definitely try to use them if I had an indoor plumbing problem in the future. <br />"

"We purchased a house with a wood burning fireplace - but it didn't have any doors on it.  We have small children, so we needed to childproof it and reduce potential messiness.   I called and made an appointment for an estimate.  Mike came out quickly and on time.  He looked around the house and suggested an antique bronze finish to match the other hardware.  He measured, went back, then emailed us a few brochures with prices.  We chose the style we liked and ordered.  He said it would take two weeks to get the doors in.  In about two weeks, he called for the install.  The installer came out (on time), installed the doors, and went over cleaning/operation with us. <br /> The doors look fantastic!  Mike's suggestion was right on and the doors really upgrade the look of the fireplace.  Both Mike and the installer had suggestions if we ever want to convert to gas... apparently the gas lines are plumbed in so it would be easy and not very expensive. <br />"

"John and his assistant showed up on time and did a good <br /> job bringing the water line into a crowded, messy garage. <br /> They offered us a choice of galvanized, copper, or plastic <br /> pipes.  It was hot and uncomfortable in the garage, but <br /> they soldiered on.  I would definitely use them again. <br />"

"Kitchen drain was clogged. Used the list to locate Rapid Rooter. Telephone receptionist was very polite and scheduled the appointment immediately. Technician arrived within time frame, and performed the work rapidly. All in all, a good experience, however the price for the drain cleaning liquid was high."

"Original estimate and proposal was handled in professional manner. Everything was fully explained and there was no pressure or "snow job". Everything was itemized and put in writing. The "free" hot water heater was not needed so received a credit of $1300. <br /> The five man crew arrived on schedule and got to work immediately.  Met with supervisor Mark and foreman Jose and reviewed job. <br /> The crew laid down tarps for dirt control (looked good at first, but wasn't that effective. Attic insulation was still tracked in house  They did attempt to vacuum everything up.) <br /> Crew didn't have a ladder so they used mine. No big deal. <br /> They all worked really hard and there was no loafing around. Had the walls opened and new pipe laid out and ready to go the first day. They didn't hesitate in working late. Made the ordeal of having to have a re-pipe bearable. It was great to still have water all day and that night. <br /> The crew were very polite and friendly and we enjoyed their presence. <br /> They really appreciated the free lunch we gave them and helped cement our relationship. They all deserved a "Gold Star" for their outstanding work. <br /> The next day layout was completed, old pipe removed and new tied in. New piping was flushed and  pressure tested. No leaks. <br /> As a former building inspector, I was very impressed by their professionalism, work ethics and attitude. It's very rare to have someone "do it right the first time".The following day the drywall came and repaired all the walls that had been demo'd. Outstanding job. <br />  Only a few negatives: <br /> Cleanup.  <br /> Attic insulation that had been pushed aside was not put back.(still not done) <br /> They also missed some shock absorbers which the building inspector caught. Jose came back the next day and took care of the them.  Bathroom exhaust fan had been stepped on and pushed down below the ceiling. Drywall man attempted repairs. OK.. <br /> Piping could have been flushed a little longer to get all debris out. Minor. <br /> Overall I am very pleased with the work. Price was a big OUCH! <br /> UPDATE! <br /> It has been several months now and I find the installation was not as great as I thought.  Rather than moving the ceiling insulation, they installed the pipes on the roof rafters. Pipe insulation inadequate; water too cold in winter and scalding hot in summer. Don't let them take short cut! <br />"

"Great. I needed to have the fitting on the gas line that comes out of the wall updated to be used with a new range and oven. It's an older home and the existing gas line fitting would not work with the new range. The work was completed quickly and correctly -- and that was terrific. And yet, that wasn't the whole value play for me. This range was being installed on December 23 and that's when the problem was found. Facing a Christmas with no range and oven was a real possibility and yet, not surprisingly, it was very difficult to find someone who could address this quickly. The fix was known to be easy yet availability was the problem. And, in fact, I had struck out after calling a half dozen firms on Angie's list trying to find someone who could do this. When I called Armstrong it was the same story: It would be several days before they could get someone out to address the issue. Yet, when I explained the impact of that, the woman from Armstrong services was extremely sensitive to the situation and reworked her tech schedule of get someone in to get it done that day -- within a couple of hours of my request. It's not an exaggeration to say that she saved Christmas. After this experience, I would highly recommend Armstrong."

"Used a snake for clog then a water jet at another cost. Not sure the extra cost for equipment in addition to labor cost was worth it. Maybe those tools should be part of there inventory??"

"Michael was genuinely courteous and interested in my problem as I described it when he answered the phone -- as he also happened to be in Vacaville at the moment finishing up work for another customer he said he would be happy to come over and take a look at the spigot in approx. 30 minutes. He appeared when promised, he explained the worst case possibility (which could have involved stucco repair/replacement) and was able to separate the old leaking faucet from its pipe and replace it with a new one (which he supplied) without any damage to the surrounding stucco and the part and his work cost much less than I expected. Also cleaned up. Additionally answered other questions on another issue I plan to work on with relevant observations and suggestions with a reasonable probable cost. I'll definitely hire again."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Rumsey, CA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
