"Chris and his crew were amazing! They diagnosed the problem well, very quick and professional, great communicators, brought in their excavator, cut out a large section of sewer, pulled an enormous tree root out of the sewer, installed a new pipe and cleanout, and put back the dirt. They were careful and explained everything o our neighbor as well. Highly highly recommend!"

"It went good until I was told and shown via the camera that I had a "bellied" sewer pipe under my basement floor. The next day, I had called someone else come and send a camera through and neither he nor I could see the "bellied" pipe that Roto Rooter had claimed was there. He even poured water down the drain tile that would've been affected, and still no sign of any "bellying." It definitely paid to have someone else look at it since that saved me from having to pay $5300 to have Roto Rooter replace a perfectly fine 6' section of my sewer line!"

"We needed a repair on the pipe from the house to the septic tank, but we didn't know it. Strange blubbing sounds in our basement bathroom and a then a clog that caused a back up in the laundry room were clues. Fernando investigated and able to figure out exactly what was happening and what to do to fix it. He was able to schedule the work when we would be out of the house so the water could be off for a couple days. He is a trustworthy and kind friend as well as our plumber. I would recommend him if you have a plumbing problem."

"They quickly answered the phone and quickly sent someone to my house. That was so appreciated as the repair was for a dryer gas line connector. Jim was courteous and knowledgeable. He explained everything so I could easily understand and recommended only the repair that was necessary. Highly recommended."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Saint Charles, IL

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
