"Late on a Friday (when else), one of our garage door openers failed to close the door. I closed it manually and called several local vendors first thing Saturday morning. Only one, Monarch Door, actually answered the phone. They walked me through a phone diagnosis, understood the problem and the importance of a prompt repair due to a handicap person in the home; called back several times including Sunday evening efforting a mutually convenient repair visit; and had a repair person on site Monday afternoon. Their repairman quickly diagnosed the problem - a jammed trolley - and made the repair. He also explained that due to the age of the opener that it would probably be more cost effective to replace rather than repair it should future problems arise - clearly understandable. He also took the time to adjust both doors; lubricate the hinges and springs; and adjust the travel limits and tension. In and out in less than 1/2 hour. A job well done and will definitely use again."

"Overall it went well. Positives: 1) The office answered all my questions concerning the two CH8355 openers that we chosse; 2) installer was punctual and friendly; 3) job was done quickly and doors work quietly and well; 4) installer even did some adjustments so that one of our doors which was hitting the ground at a bad angle now hits the floor more smoothly. Opportunities for improvement: 1) Installer did not clean up the tacks that held the old wires to the wall - so I had to sweep the garage and the driveway carefully so that I won't puncture a tire. 2) After I had asked installer to consult with me on position of the keypad before installing the outside keypad, installer did not ask me about the position of the buttons on the inside of the garage next to the door from garage to house - he simply installed them at the same place as before. Problem with this is that the buttons were a little too high for my wife to begin with and now (because button design is different) they are even higher and she has to stretch to open one of them. I should have asked him to check with me before he installed those buttons (but I missed that detail). I think installer should prompt the homeowner - ask him "show me where you want the buttons" or "do you like where the buttons are now, or want them higher/lower?". After all, installer does this all the time, homeowner doesn't. So that is why I rated them a "B" for Professionalism."
