"JJ provided a detailed description of work needed to remove and replace my 20 yr old rusted cooler, complete with photos and an itemized list of labor and parts. Gerrod and James arrived within the time parameter, introduced themselves and got to work. They did need to go get a larger unit and within 4 hours my new cooler was up and cooling my house. What I paid was exactly what was estimated. I received photos of every step of the installation."

"David did an awesome job. This house has been vacant for over 4 years and we’re trying to bring it back to life. David helped troubleshoot and replace the radiant heating furnace. His copper work is beautiful. We now have heat. We will have them replace the hot water heater next."

"We were ready for a struggle. We have a 'special' HVAC system which was struggling. Two years ago we had several HVAC providers provide estimates and they were all so high that we just decided to wait until our system died.
The system didn't die but someone in this household decided to power wash the unit, crushing about 75% of the fins. So then we had a struggling system that was very damaged and straightening 75% of the fins did not seem doable.
We called Reliable and Terrence and Erik came out to examine our system and provide an estimate. Although we were prepared to hear the entire system had to be replaced, Terrence thought that was not necessary and he carefully explained his recommendation.
Within two days we had a written estimate that was thousands of dollars less than any other estimate we had received two years previously when the system was not struggling as much.  The estimate included
Reliable replaced our unit with a new, smaller, more energy efficient unit. We could not be more pleased. They even registered the unit with Lennox, as they had all the information.
Now we probably have a system that will operate for at least another 10 years. We will call Reliable Tech from now on for any HVAC or plumbing problem. They proved that sometimes the WHOLE system does not have to be replaced. Somehow, Reliable Tech was the only provider who understood that 'just enough' is often all that is required.

"Jim is super nice. He started working on my computer right away and had it repaired very quickly. I was nervous about everything he was doing to it so he talked with me on the phone about it while he worked and he updated me all along on his progress. He also took the time to explain everything in detail so that I would understand what was causing the problems and how to avoid them in the future. He's not at all cocky or arrogant like some computer specialists are who think they are smarter than they really are. I like that he didn't do anything to my computer without notifying me first. I will definitely be using him again in the future!!!"

"Replaced a swamp cooler on 2nd floor roof. Prompt, friendly, professional 3 man team was well organized and efficiently got the job done right! Used a boom crane to lift/place/remove the coolers. All at a fair price. Great team, great people."

"Work was done in July 2021. Our 18-year old house had problems with root intrusion in the sewer main line (house to street). A big company recommended the entire main line be replaced out to the middle of the street using trenchless digging. Their estimate was super expensive ($$,$$$), with 3 days work and the street shut down. So we checked out reviews on Angi.com and chose All-Out for an estimate. Ron surveyed the site, reviewed the video from inside the pipe, and determined that only a section needed to be replaced and it wouldn't involve any of the city line. He wrote up his estimate on the spot for less than a quarter of the big company's huge price. Ron was up-front about the scale of the job (all day, with a 1-2 hour sewer line outage) and the likely impact on our xeriscaped yard. Everyone at All-Out was professional, knowledgeable, and informative. The All-Out crew, Thomas and Oscar, showed up on time and had the two holes (3' and 6' going directly under a tree!) hand dug and the line replaced in one long hard day's work just as promised. They were very knowledgeable and took time to answer all our questions. They came back after a city inspection to fill in the holes and restore the yard. Everything was done as promised, on time, at the quoted price. They saved us a lot of money and bother, and in the future we will definitely call on them for our plumbing and maintenance needs."

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Santa Cruz, NM

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
