"This is the second big job I've had this company do for me - and I would absolutely hire them again. (They put in a huge paver patio for me last year.) Here's why: You know how there are always things that go wrong on a job? I've hired companies that don't take responsibility for anything once they are "done" with a given job. But Cascadia Outdoor Living Spaces stands behind their work with an honorable commitment to customer satisfaction and quality. They came back a couple of times after the job end date to fix up parts of the fences that weren't quite up to my pretty high standards - with no complaints and a great attitude. If anything goes wrong in the future, either with my patio or my fence, I have no doubt that they would come back to make it right. I should also note that Steve Higa proactively beat out another estimate I had gotten for the new fence, so I had to admire that initiative and drive to get this particular contract! So I would say: Definitely get other bids for comparison, and ask Steve to see if he can do the work for the price you want to pay."

"He came out, and he was very personable. He builds decks and he also does the covers for deck. I didn't want the very dark covers, I didn't want to block out light. I wanted it lighter, but the new material stuff is expensive, and so I don't think we will be doing it this year. I am sure he does a good job, with the pictures that I had seen on the web, and on his site. It looked really good. It took several weeks for him to come out, appointment wise."

"First, our goal was to create a clean, modern look in our backyard. We wanted clean lines, ease of maintenance with plants native to the NW. This meant replacing the old loose stack stone retaining wall, tearing out the non-native species (we had Yucca and a Palm tree of all things) plus some old trees that were dying. Cameron, a planner for Father Nature (FN), came out multiple times to the house and consulted us on our options. Cameron’s a natural at his job and he worked hard to make sure we got exactly what we wanted and paid for. Once we decided on what type of work we wanted done, Cameron went back and worked up an estimate for the job. It took a couple of days but that's because he sent me a precise plan with the billing of material included. Now's the time to talk cost. I had three company's give me estimates and FN was much higher than the other two. However, I did not get a warm fuzzy from either of the other company's, especially after getting same day handwritten estimates that provided no breakdown of the work to be done or the cost or type of materials to be used, they were just giving me an overall bid on the job. So yes, FN was more expensive but you get what you pay for and in this case, we got a planner (Cameron) who understood our vision and helped us reach it plus I knew exactly what I was paying for up front...no hidden surprises. The work took a total of 8.5 days and the difference is night and day. The crew (Carl, the foreman, plus Romeo, Antonio, and Ricco) were very polite, courteous and professional and busted their collective behinds off to do this job right. In all, they removed and replaced the retaining wall (stone masonry with cap stones were used), replaced 90% of the old plants with native species, installed a sprinkler and irrigation system for the entire backyard, spread new topsoil and sodded the entire grass area. At the end of every day the guys made sure their work area was cleaned up and the final clean up was perfect, especially considering the weather. All in all, I would work with these guys again. Great job Father Nature!"

"Really excellent local company and crew. They provide us with regular yard maintenance as well as yearly pruning. The crew always show up on time, are friendly and professional and do a great job. Love that they use chemical-free lawn and tree treatments and our yard looks great. Have used the service for several years and will continue to do so as well as recommend them."

"Sia and his crew did a stellar job on my new concrete driveway conversion from gravel and block planter wall in front of the house! After a prompt free estimate and due diligence, I found Step Up's estimate to be the most competitive and fairly priced. They were always very communicative and promptly showed up when they said they would everyday. Throughout the whole process, they kept the work area clean during the day and at the end of the day before leaving. In the end, both the concrete driveway and block wall turned out great, couldn't be happier with their work!"

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Seahurst, WA

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
