"I was having some issues with water coming into the basement through the foundation and walls during rainy weather. Not flooding, or even shop vac-able volumes, just enough to be annoying and require mopping. Dominic and his crew were here today to install an under-floor drainage system and a new sump pump. I was dreading the demo (I have a concrete floor) and the mess involved, but these guys came prepared for everything! They used dust abatement measures to protect all my basement-stored items, and they removed and hauled all the debris away when finished with the excavation. What really impressed me was the concrete restoration upon completion. I've previously had a sewer line replaced through the basement floor, and the contractor really "botched" the floor repair. I can't describe how different this experience was! The concrete installed today is immaculate! Dominic takes pride in his work and with good reason! The new concrete is perfect! I am thrilled!"

"Estimate was given and was exactly what I paid.  The owner and his son showed up on the appointed day and did the work in a matter of 3-4 days.  They had a large fan that kept the dust to a minimum and cleaned up after each days work.  Both were very careful not to track dirt in & out of the basement while working.
About two weeks after they completed their work we had a bad storm in the area and rec'd quite a bit of rain.  I watched the new sump-pump they installed and it was filling up then...woosh... it was all gone and the water again began to fill it up.  Checked all the walls in the basement and none of them were wet so... basement is now dry!!! YEA!!!

"I used Basement Guru's for a multi-project situation at my house in spring 2021. Dan was super professional and courteous and very helpful - as was his team that showed up to do the actual work. One major thing I liked is that they were able to accomplish a bunch of products for me. It was easy to find one company to do a french drain - and another to do a new window well - but - in addition to that - I had three other projects - for a total of 5 to get completed at once! Basement Guru's was able to fix ALL of these issues for me! Getting water in my finished basement was horrible for me and my family - in a room we use daily. Dan and his team made the process to get it fixed as easy as possible and with great communication and concern for my well being and my families well being. I literally had 10 companies come and give me quotes and their opinions. 3 of them tried to sell me on something that was obviously NOT needed. Then, an additional 2 were terrible communicators - I had to chase after them to just get a quote! The rest - couldn't do ALL of the work - just some of the work. I am attaching pics of two of the 5 projects - which were the main things I needed done - a french drain in my unfinished basement (the water getting into my unfinished basement was causing a leak in two spots in my finished basement) - and then a new window well - which was causing a leak in another part of my finished basement. Before posting this - I was reading some of the other reviews Basement Gurus received. Like anything else - perception is certainly everything. I am the kind of person that does a ton of research and gets a bunch of quotes. Customer service is very important to me. Certainly, there is absolutely no way a company can please everybody - and have every job go 100% well - its just not possible. Was I completely 100% satisfied with everything this company did for me? Of course not. However, I will say this - Dan and his team went out of their way to make things right and to make me happy. Do i recommend them? YES !! But, even more important........Would I hire them again??? - absolutely!"

"Excellent wish all my contractors came out this good.  showed up for the estimate on time and had a video that showed the steps to fix the basement.  measured  the basement and made up contract.  when I mentioned angies list and deals offered we built it right into contract without printing coupons and stuff. were quick with availability came out the following week.  foreman (Dan) was on time and double checked everything before starting .Wanted to move sump pump and outside drain to a less used area. not a PROBLEM. Was loud and cold in the house all day as if you run the furnace while they work it comes through the vents.  laid out carpet protectors and were done in only 1 day (the estimator planned 2)  Jackhammered the floor out and dug down to foundation laid new drains and installed new sump pump. they brought 5 people and they all worked hard constantly for the day.  lost track of all the buckets after 30 (5 gal. buckets).removed with old crap.  Explained all the warranties and paperwork with new sump pump.  Have to wait for the concrete to dry. it's now 3 days later and I'm ready to put the basement back together.  Looks great and can't wait to use the basement without wet and damp floors and walls furnace)  did forget to put screen back in basement window but if you have leaky walls and damp floors this is nice.  any problems after the next big rain I'll let ya's know.

"Mr. Di Fatta and his sons removed the old bricks, cleaned out the salt deposits, poured new concrete with steel reinforcements, and laid new bricks. All very professional. The walkway looks great and I am very pleased with the results. Excellent value for the money."

"Went great.  Person came out.  I walked them through locations of foundation cracks and 3 window wells that would fill with water and seep in through window seals as there was no drain in wells.  Price was fair and the team that came out and did the work did so in a professional manner.  Chipping out concrete is never clean but they were careful to cover up items in the basement and ensured that they cleaned up both the interior and exterior sites that they worked on.  They put rubber membrane and re-tarred several water intrusion locations as a part of the service - from the outside of the building.  The basement is dry and I haven't seen any evidence of moisture since they completed the work.  This is a necessity if anyone is thinking of finishing an area like this in their house.

FAQs for concrete foundation raise projects in Shrewsbury, PA

On average, it takes two to seven days to physically raise your house. However, this does not include the preparation work, which is often the most lengthy process. The entire project, including preparation, obtaining permits, disconnecting utilities, and any subsequent landscaping, can take four to eight weeks. This timeline ensures everything is done safely and that your home remains structurally sound.

If proper safety protocols are not followed, raising a house can cause severe damage, as the process involves applying controlled force to the home's structure. The risks involved make it crucial to hire a skilled contractor who uses engineered methods to secure your home and prevent any harm to your household.

If your foundation shows signs of instability after raising your home, you might need to add structural support. A structural engineer can assess your foundation and recommend reinforcements to ensure your house stays stable and safe for the long term. Available support options include installing additional piers or pilings, reinforcing existing footings, or using steel beams to distribute the load more evenly.

You will need a structural engineer to assess your home before you begin. These professionals determine whether your house is suitable for lifting and identify any issues that could compromise its stability. Their expertise ensures that the project is designed correctly and all risks are managed to achieve a successful lift.
