"I hired Aqua Sewer & Drain to repair a leaking pipe under the slab of my home - by no means a simple job. Alec was clear with my repair options and the cost estimate. He and Jeff together were able to perform the entire repair process including removing and replacing the flooring, jackhammering the slab, and the leak repair itself. Throughout the process, they kept the work area neat and kept me updated on their status. Once the job was complete, it was as if there was never a trench in my living room. I was completely satisfied with their work and recommend Aqua Sewer & Drain."

"I have the best to say about Tom and his team. I did not believe that they could replace the old oil boiler with a gas boiler in one day! Tom and two technicians came at 8:00 a.m. By 10:00 AM, a new gas boiler was in place, and one guy was working on the piping in the driveway while the other person was completing the installation. By 4:00 p.m. They call me to test the boiler. work like magic. The boiler passes its first city inspection for mechanical and electrical systems. I also want to mention that the price was very reasonable. PSEG estimate was almost twice the price. I recommended Tom to my next-door friend. So far, I am at a loss. I am overjoyed to be rid of the oil boiler, as well as the oil company and the oil deliveries. Thanks Tom. Highly recommended. "

"Anthony sent his crew very promptly to investigate our gas leak. The crew was very knowledgeable and thorough. The flat rate pricing could have been better/ further broken down but overall happy with their services."

"Excellent Job, We had a bad clog in the sink. Multiple plumbers suggested replacing the entire pipe. But Lois was able to fix with his special tool and cutting a small hole in the ceiling. He completed the job in much less intrusive way and costed us less money. Well done."

"FANTASTIC! They responded right away. A worry that we had that there would be a costly digging up of the pipes in our slab foundation were quickly relieved. He diagnosed the problem very quickly and narrowed the problem down to the four items mentioned above and the lesser of the three was given to us free. The cost was very reasonable. We will definitely use them again."

"MarGo is pricey, however, you really do get what you pay for. Xavier and Brandon who performed the work did an excellent job. An undiscovered problem with one of the pipes was identified and expertly taken care of. Both men were professional and cordial. Joe, the owner, also came by and removed a broken toilet seat, in record time. When you call this plumbing company you are calling the best in the Livingston/Essex county area."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Somerville, NJ

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
