Now they are adding power to a new rock pile sign for the strip mall and tenants. Reasonable prices, professional quality, but the reason we keep hiring them is the customer service is top notch."

"Josh was a pleasure to work with and talk to about the project. The quote process was easy and fast. He offered two quote options (contracts) via direct email. One was for a breaker replacement and the one selected was for panel upgrade to a 200-amp NEMA 3R enclosure (wording of the quote). I had additional questions about the cost and details, which were asked and addressed in messaged and phone calls. My primary concern was to not have AFCI breakers and ensure that the brand and series of the existing panel and breakers was maintained. After discussion with Josh, he assured me AFCI breaker were not required under existing electrical code due to a lack of interior branch circuit modification. On scheduling, I agreed to the panel upgrade, and arranged a time and date for the work to be completed. I was beginning to get suspicious on the night before planned install, when Josh asked for images of the breakers, to order parts. On installation time, Josh was a bit late due to parts pick up and coordination with the electric utility, Entergy Texas. We had another contractor inspecting a failing air conditioner at the same time as part of the work, but this did not interfere and Josh made multiple supply runs to Home Depot, as opposed to a contractor supply store. I did not inspect the parts or materials, but infrequently would see his wiring progress and based on our text and verbal discussion, thought the parts used would align to our agreed replacement and quote. Josh finished the work in the afternoon, and all power was restored, with a new meter lock provided by Entergy without further inspection. This was my second clue to potential issues that I needed to evaluate the product and work performed. The following day, on opening the panel, I found labels indicating the brand was correct -- Square-D, but the series was not. The only clear marking was on the panel, it is a Square-D HOMLine series 3R panel.....The service breaker, or main breaker was also NOT a 200-amp service, but a 225 amp service -- which I have learned from other quotes is not a common service rating on residential applications of this size. I messaged Josh, asking to clarify what the 225-amp circuit main was intended for, and why the switch had happened. He advised me that the supplier was having trouble getting 200-amp panels and main breakers, and this was 'free upgrade' or something of that nature. I further pushed the issue that this was not what we had discussed, signed, or agreed to. Josh pushed back that it was better, more than sufficient for my homes needs and that the original requested series of equipment, Square-D QO both panels and breakers, were 'overblown for industrial use'. I questioned what I knew of the differences and why our original equipment was QO due to the warranty and insulation value of the enclosure, which he dismissed. He reached back out to provide a verbal warranty from his supplier that the HOMline panel would be lifetime warranty from them, matching the manufacurer warranty. However, I have not purchase or documentation from either hall's or his supplier, Crawford, to show the purchase date, installation or items in question. I stated my desire to have an actual Square-D panel and breakers, explaining that was what we had discussed and even going so far as to challenge his professional opinion of HOMLine being just as good as the QO series of equipment by asking why a homeowner would replace a lifetime warranty panel with a lower quality product with only a 10 warranty without consultation from his electrician. He insisted this was the consult and that it was fine, both from a code and quality perspective. I insisted we wanted a Square D-QO series to match what we previously and had discussed. He advised he would reach out to his supplier on return, if I 'insisted on going that route'. After one week, there has been no response or feedback on the matter. After further searching during this timeline, I was able to find all breakers and panel available in the Square-D QO line are available locally at consumer hardware stores, as well as from his stated supplier of choice, Crawford electric, and the total to purchase for me, without any contractor discounts is aligned with the cost of parts in his written quote document."
