"It was not an easy job at all, but the patience and clear instructions of Wally C. from Neli Virtual Appliance Repair made it possible, and successful. Experience with tools and mechanical assembly required for my tasks, but Wally thought I could do it and he was right. If I couldn't complete the repair, I would have at least been sure of the diagnosis when I engaged a repair service. Money well spent either way. It's a brave new world!"

"The manager takes time to explain the problems and the resolution. He trains his staff well. The staff is knowledgeable. The staff knew Tappan was made by Frigidaire. They explained how the burners were set up and how each burner/coil, self-clean and oven features operate. Mr. Appliance has excellent customer service. I had an appointment scheduled 2 days after I called the manager. His staff diagnosed and then when the part came in it was installed. The process took about 10 days from my call to the work being completed. I have used the repaired burner and my meal turned out perfect. The price I paid was fair. I recommend Mr. Appliance of Springfield."

"I contacted J&M for a quote for a kitchen remodel to include removal of soffits, all new cabinets, counters and some new appliances.  I ultimately chose them for the job and I can't explain how great the process went.  I feel like James and I are old friends at this point!  If you don't get past the first sentences of this review, know that I am very pleased with them and even sent them gifts/bonuses on top of payment in full.  I'm extremely picky and still loved the service.  Once I recover financially from this project, I'm going to hire him again for something else :)

I had James over to do the estimate, and we went back and forth for quite some time while I decided between him and another company.  I learned quickly that James will answer his emails quickly - either first thing in the morning or in the evening.  You will get a quick response.  I ended up adding a lot of different things to have him quote, and before I ever gave him a dime or guarantee of my business.  I received the estimate, selected him then received his contract.  I work with fairly sophisticated contracts at work, so I wasn't satisfied with his contract and "modified" it.  If I offended him, he didn't let it show.  I just wanted to make sure we were both protected.

Day one came.  I was extremely nervous.  James and his crew came and started immediately.  It was 8am, I was half asleep, but they were busy working.  I'm sure that I annoyed that day by watching them the entire time.  We had decided to do some of the demo to save money - we removed all of the old cabinets, countertops and moved most of the appliances.  James and his crew tore out the soffits, moved the rest of the appliances and ran into some issues that he corrected.  He ended up putting in all new plumbing for my sink (awesome).  At the end of day one, he had some cabinets already hung.  Wow.

Day two came, I was a much more relaxed and already trusted him.  I do not trust people in my house easily, but I felt okay that he was there.  He was so focused on work.  I went to the gym and when I came home, ALL OF THE CABINETS WERE INSTALLED.  Oh, that's not all.  We ran up to home depot for him to get the right plug for my stove, so he had my stove, new over the range microwave, and fridge (with water hookup) all back to where they were supposed to be.  I don't think anyone who hasn't experienced a kitchen remodel understands what this means.  I expected to not have a kitchen, AT ALL, for weeks.  Weeks.  I had a semi-functioning kitchen after T W O D A Y S!  Yes, I said two days.  I could COOK!  Now, not having a sink still was terrible, but expected.

Days three and four the drywall guy and quartz template guys came.  I wasn't a fan of the drywall guy, but he did a good job.  I just felt that he was somewhat slow and messy.  Plus he asked to borrow my hair dryer to speed up the drying.  It was a really small area.  Eh, it's a little thing.  It looks good, so I guess that's all that matters.  Template guy - not much to say about that.  He was entertaining to say the least.

Now we waited, and I probably emailed James way too often.  James came back one day somewhere before contertops and got some things put in.  We had a misunderstanding with the corner cabinet.  It HAD TO have a lazy-susan in it, but for some reason, something happened and it wasn't ordered correctly.  There was also a pull up cabinet hardware that was missing.  But here's the thing, James fixed this immediately.  My price didn't change either.  I was very happy that things got fixed so easily.  That day the crowns went up, cabinet hardware went up, and under cabinet lighting installed.

Then countertop day came.  We had a lot of issues with that. Not between us, but they really had to mess around with the wall because it wasn't level.  James was on top of it.  And it looks absolutely amazing.   I LOVE my countertop.  They spent so much time that day that not much else got done.  He got the faucet installed, just not hooked up.  It taunted me that night.

The next day about everything got finished.  We had a little disagreement with the dishwasher placement.  If James reads this, he'll probably laugh.  James was very diplomatic and agreed to put the dishwasher like I wanted it.  He's a very good man.  Thanks James!!!  It looks awesome.  That day they finished the faucet hookup and garbage disposal.  Can I tell you how amazing it was to finally have a sink???  Because you don't realize how often you use a sink.

Then the tile guy came and did the backsplash. He was slow, but I think I kind of want that to be slow, you want it to look perfect.  I wasn't home during this.  But my alarm system says he walked in and out of the garage a lot to do cuts on the tiles.  It looks very nice now that it's done.

James came one last time to do last minute details.  The under cabinet lighting had screws that were too long, so he put in new ones.  We still don't know why they would have given such long screws with the lighting.  They replaced a few doors that were damaged in shipping (no charge to me).  And they made a custom panel for the pull out cabinet that the cabinet company messed up on.  I'm very happy with how that cabinet turned out, it looks very nice.

My final comments - I love this company.  I feel like with any company you hire, you have to be very honest about your expectations, and you need to have them in writing.  Put your concerns and expectations IN THE CONTRACT.  Don't be afraid to change their contract and make it so you are happy with it.  We sent it ours back and forth a few times.  Communicate with your contractor.  James would text me with small questions when he was on the job (I told him to text me).  He would text me pictures of things when I asked for it.  I would hire James again in a heartbeat.  I trust him with my home, and that's saying a lot from a girl who has cameras and a sophisticated alarm system.  My kitchen looks beautiful.  James fixed ANYTHING that I was not satisfied with.  If you are looking for a contractor to do renovations for you in your home, I'd give J&M a chance.

Benefits to hiring a contractor to do it all - you don't have to schedule things.  I am extremely glad that I did not try to be my own foreman.  Here's why - I work a full time job on my own and  I didn't have to worry about when I needed to order cabinets or countertops so they would arrive at the right times.  I didn't have to look for different tradespeople and schedule them around when they would be needed.  James did all of that.
Thank you James."

"They have always fixed the problems that we've had. Frustrations? Delays? At times. We live in a flawed world. But overall, service has been professional and well done. It has always been worth the monthly fee and deductibles. If you consider that most appliances today only last five years or so, breakdowns are going to be a given. Our most recent repair will require at least two service calls and an $1800 part. That more than pays for our entire year's fees."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Springfield, OH

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
