"Shantol Jackson did a fantastic job trouble shooting our backed up plumbing. He returned the next day and fixed a really messy clogged main line. I can't thank him enough for moving boxes and cleaning up the "mess". Very professional and great attitude!"

"We just moved into our 1960's new house and the main sewer line was backing up. Short on time, with new baby, I contacted Viking on a Friday night and they came out on Sunday afternoon when promised. Pulled lower toilet, snaked and fixed the issue within 30 minutes. Expert service, great advice and would definitely use them again. Highly recommended."

"I purchased the Big Deal for AABCO's installation of a new garbage disposal, testing/inspecting the drain line for obstructions, and an impressive warranty (5 yrs/2 yrs parts and labor) on the new disposal unit. Upon contacting AABCO on a Friday afternoon, inquiring about when someone might be able to come out and replace the disposal unit (having mentioned that the kitchen sink wasn't draining properly either - perhaps due to the utterly dead unit, or perhaps another issue), Mr. Gaskins promptly offered me a 9 am appt. the next morning - a Saturday, at no extra charge!
Mr. Gaskins was prompt, thoroughly professional, clearly experienced, and most gracious. He quickly and efficiently removed the old unit, inspected the drain line for any other obstructions, and quickly determined that the rusted unit was the sole reason for the slow drain. Then, despite very little room to maneuver under the kitchen sink cabinet (and very tight pipe connections), he expertly installed the new unit, tested it to make sure it was working properly, and even stayed a few more minutes to make sure that the drain was draining properly after I started the dishwasher. Thanks to his coming to the job well-prepared for any possible complications, he was able to quickly replace a worn, tight plastic connection that snapped (during installation), with a new piece that he had stocked on his truck - and most graciously replaced it free of charge. He took great care to ensure my home stayed clean at literally every step - donning shoe covers at the entryway, bringing towels and a bucket with him to catch any drips, and taking the old disposal unit away with him when he left. Mr. Gaskins was utterly professional, personable, honest, and gracious. I would gladly call him again for any plumbing needs that may arise in the future. I have already recommended him to my neighbors!

"Casco answered our call immediately and came out as soon as they were able according to projected time. He fixed the problem, however, diagnosed the cause of our blockage. We were told that there was a break in the main sewer line leading into the house, which would need to be replaced. He showed us what he called a "root ball," that he said broke through the line somewhere in our yard. Obviously, this was a huge issue and we needed to get the trouble resolved and asked for an estimate. We did not receive it right away, which was concerning to us and also noticed that there was no water pooling up in our yard, which one would anticipate happening if a leak was, in fact, coming from the outside lines. When we did receive the estimate, we were shocked at the amount - $7,066. In addition, we were told that the lines came out from the house under part of our asphalt driveway, so that would have to be excavated at additional cost. We consulted another plumber who brought a camera snake in and determined: 1. There was NO break in the outside line (we viewed the camera as the snake went through the pipes). It was obvious where the clog ("root ball") had been at a 90 degree upward juncture; and 2. Our sewer lines DO NOT run underneath our driveway, so had Casco come out to do an unnecessary repair, it would have cost us greatly for no reason. We are appreciative of their speedy service and they did unclog the line, which is what was needed. However, I would not recommend them for diagnosing serious plumbing issues without the appropriate equipment and knowledge to do so."

"I’ve been using Tri-County Pumps for the last 12 years to perform annual maintenance on my water treatment system (softener & neutralizer). Their service guy is personable and explained all issues and work to be done before starting repair/maintenance. They’ve even performed emergency replacement of my well pump in the dead of winter in the past! I’d recommend Tri-County and give them an A+ rating"

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Stephens City, VA

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
