"We were extremely pleased with the service provided to us by Bob's Air Repair and their technician Luke T. The heating in our HVAC system was failing to launch when turned on, although it made noises of an attempt to do so. From the time we placed the service request to Luke's arrival everything was handled in a efficient & professional manner."

"After having my a/c unit looked at my service guy said it would need some work but the unit was 18 years old. He told me they had some good deals going so I took at look. He sold me a Lennox Air Flow unit and an updated larger return to get my system up to speed. They installed the unit and return on the following Wed and when I got home that evening and took at look at it to my surprise it was a different unit than the one I purchased, a Rheem not a Lennox. I called the company to see what was going on and was told the install manager would return my call, he never did. I called again and finally got  the install manager and he told me the unit they sold me was too big for the area I had so they upgraded me to this unit. He said he would email me the dimensions and  the paperwork for the new unit, he never did. At this point I am thinking I just got screwed and they are hiding something. I called the company again and the reception girl told me someone would call me back, they never did. I gave it one last try before calling my lawyer and asked for the company manager, I was told he wasn't in yet and that he would call me back. This time I did get a call and he really couldn't tell me why but said the unit they put in was a better unit and he would find out what happened. He emailed me back and explained the situation and I was satisfied with his explanation, but it was not what the install manager had told me. All in all the service people they have on the a/c side are great but the office people are a little sketchy. The unit works great but I really had to jump through a lot of hoops to get satisfaction and at the price I paid I should not have had to. A simple phone call from them telling me the problem would have averted any concerns, but like the several calls I made to them, I never got a call. I probably wouldn't use them again but I am kind of tied to them for taking care of my new unit under the warranty."

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Stirling-city, CA

A condenser fan motor is a crucial part of your air conditioner that prevents the compressor from overheating. It pulls heat from your AC unit to cool the refrigerant moving through the condenser coils. This allows your system to blow cool air and keeps everything running smoothly.

The most common causes of AC fan motor failure include loss of lubricant in the system due to overheating and a rusted or leaking run capacitor. Poor lubrication can also cause failure in the belt drive, which may impact the AC fan motor. Weather and electrical components can also affect your AC. For example, a storm could send water into your motor windings and damage the internal components.

Air conditioner fan motors last about 12 years on average, though they can last longer if maintained well. This includes keeping them clean and cooled as needed with annual air conditioner checkups. Routine maintenance is essential to catch AC fan issues early. An HVAC inspection can cost between $70 and $500, while AC cleaning services may range from $100 to $400.

A broken AC fan motor may need replacement because this part usually can’t be repaired. Several things indicate it’s time to replace your AC fan motor, including buzzing noises, a constantly running fan, unusually high energy bills, or an aging system. If you notice these signs, call an HVAC pro for help before the faulty motor starts to strain other parts of the AC system.

There are clear warning signs of a bad AC fan motor, including unusual interruptions in the fan operation. The motor might be malfunctioning if you hear weird noises like grinding or rattling or if the fan continues to spin when the unit is off. These indicators compromise your AC’s cooling performance and increase your energy costs. Addressing these issues immediately by contacting a trusted HVAC professional prevents further damage and safeguards your HVAC's efficiency.

Replacing your AC fan motor takes a professional one to four hours. The technician will start by assessing your system and safely removing the damaged motor. If a new part needs to be ordered, it might take a few days. Once the part is available, your pro will install it properly and make sure your system is running smoothly.
