"Great! I have three AC Units on my house, all were 11+ years old. I had issues with one early in the summer, then came home to find that a second one had gone kaput. I had conversations with three different providers, and ultimately I chose to go with Punbar to replace all three units. Ronald answered all my questions, made some good suggestions, and during all our conversations never pressured me to make one choice or another. He was matter of fact and honest about the limitations what we could do to improve the circulation in the house. His team was able to replace all three units in one day (albeit a long day!) and the were neat, tidy, cleaned up and picked up well, including when one of the workers accidentally put his foot through the ceiling. While they had to come back to repair the ceiling, again, it was done very well and the drywall person cleaned up the work area very well. The pricing was good, (of the the three quotes I had, Punbar was the middle price) and they worked to get all the rebates possible at the time, further reducing my cost. I would highly recommend them."

"I had a great experience with Kelly's A/C. They installed blown-in insulation in my home, and the difference was noticeable right away—my house feels more comfortable, and I’m already seeing an improvement in energy efficiency. The team was professional, on time, and kept everything clean throughout the process. They took the time to explain the work and answer all my questions. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing insulation or HVAC services!"

"Excellent service from John Moore! This review goes across the board to capture all those involved from the initial call for service to the final step of installation/replacement. We’ve used John Moore Services for several things in the past three months and once again they did not disappoint. Great customer service, pricing, speed and efficiency in installation! Highly recommend!!"

"This was not a good experience.   After using another company (Landmark/One Hour) for many years, I decided that I would try to give some business to a local company that is in my neighborhood.  Bellaire A/C does not schedule regular maintenance appointments on Saturdays.   I have a very busy work schedule,  so I scheduled several weeks in advance for a weekday appointment - between 8 and 10am.   I was first surprised when no one called the day before to confirm the appointment.   Then at 9:45 am on the day of the appt, when no one had arrived or contacted me, I called the office to inquire about the status of the technician who would be at my house.    The very rude, haughty, dismissive woman on the phone said that the technician had to go to another appointment before mine and was running behind schedule and would likely be at my house by 10:30am.   I told her that since I had made the early appointment that I expected a contractor to honor that window since I don't have time to waste waiting on the technician .    She acted like I was unreasonable and that I was lucky that they would get to me at all.   After speaking with her, I decided that I had made a huge mistake by thinking that I should do business with this company.    I was looking up other alternatives on Angies List when the technician arrived (about 10 minutes after I hung up the phone).    He was cordial and professional, but he was only in my home for 30 minutes - checking 2 units in the attic and the outside condenser units.    My old company would spend quite a bit of time - although they were slightly more expensive - checking and cleaning the systems.    I am at a loss about this whole episode but I do know that I won't use these guys again - mostly based on my dealings with that ghastly woman who schedules the work."

"I depend on Evolution Services. They are knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt. They have repaired my washer, cleaned the dryer vent (we do this annually), and they installed a built in double oven, gas cooktop, microwave, and 3 new dishwashers. I have used them at two different homes. They even helped find me a great deal in a replacement when my dishwasher died 18 months out of warranty. I HIGHLY recommend!"

"Well, fan was repaired however, due to the age of the heating unit, a newly required part was not installed. Technician turned off the gas so the furnace could not be used. Still trying to figure out what I need to do."

"This is the first time I have gone to a mechanic outside of the dealership or Uzi's Autohaus and it was such a great experience.
Tony made me aware of the work that did or did not have to be done.   Such Peace of Mind.
When i asked to have a stainless steel tip installed on the car's tailpipe, they went above and beyond in making a picasso out of steel - so beautiful.
And Justin drove me to the park and ride - excellent driver - conversationlist - so great.
Honestly, if I was blessed with more than the (3) brothers I have I would wish for them.
I would highly Colony One (and a stainless steel tailpipe tip if your car is not equipped with one already).  Their business is a credit to the Stafford/Sugar Land vicinity.

"They first brought in and attempted to install the wrong (lower level) model but the job boss caught it and they brought in the correct one. Then they couldn't get the thermostat to work but came back the next day and got it working. The next week the thermostat read 3 degrees higher than the set temp, next day it was a 4 degree difference, next day the screen went blank. They came out within an hour and fixed it but didn't seem to know what was wrong. Seems like the problem is with the American Standard product though. Cuccos was quick to fix the problems and very polite and clean. But also, the Angie's List page says they give a 10% discount to seniors and I didn't get that - when I asked, instead the owner offered 5 years free maintenance."

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Sugar Land, TX

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
