Customers say: Quick response

"We have an older home that still had the original septic system. The property layout combined with the original system made for a challenging job. Mr. Farley did an amazing job. The prep, design, and construction work went smoothly and my wife and I appreciated how hard they worked. When we called him when we knew we'd had it "up to here" with the old system, he helped get us to open it enough to get by until construction started. He is so knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and hardworking. We have an odd, wonderful property and he helped come up with a cost-effective solution for us that fit the need. We have our new septic system in place and we love it. I'm sure we'll have a lifetime of trouble-free use. They even helped fix a grading problem we had when it was all put back. I can't thank him or recommend him enough. You won't regret hiring William Farley Septic Systems."

Small jobs welcome

"I couldn’t be more impressed with the service I received. From the moment I called, the team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. They arrived right on time, diagnosed the issue quickly, and took the time to explain the repair process clearly. The quality of the workmanship is top-tier. They were efficient, tidy, and made sure everything was functioning perfectly before heading out. It’s rare to find a service provider that balances technical expertise with such great customer care. If you’re looking for a reliable, honest, and skilled plumbing team, I highly recommend giving them a call!"

I’ve been working in plumbing and Drain Cleaning for over 7 years, currently serving the greater Hudson Valley Area of NY, Northern NJ and Pike County PA. I take real pride in doing things the right way, not the easy way. Whether it’s a simple fix or a full system overhaul, I treat every job like it’s my own home. My goal is straightforward, show up on time, do clean work, and leave you with zero headaches.

"Scott Newell is an excellent contractor. He is very fast and does outstanding work. I hired him to install a new complex septic system. Bureaucratic delays was jeopardizing a committed house closing. A job that other contractors said would take one to two weeks Scott accomplished in three days. Very professional, really helpful and a good guy to deal with. Highly recommend him."

"They actually maintain our Lawn on a regular basis, but they accommodate my needs, they don't require me to sign a regularly scheduled service. They come when I need them. They also do my Annual Clean ups for Spring and Fall. I would give them a 6 on the Value. I have recommended them to several Friends, Colleagues, and family members."

FAQs for septic system repair projects in Sussex, NJ

Leach field failure can often occur due to a lack of proper maintenance, hydraulic overload, or environmental factors. When too much water enters the septic system—like running multiple large laundry loads back-to-back—it can overwhelm the leach field. Regular professional inspections, ongoing maintenance, and spacing out high-water-use activities help prevent failure.

A septic tank shows repair needs when noticeable symptoms arise around your home. Noticeable signs include strong sewage odors at fixtures, recurring pipe blockages, pooling water or damp patches near the leach field, and areas of unusually bright green or spongy grass. These indicators confirm that deteriorating components or clogs exist. Monitoring such signs and scheduling timely professional inspections prevents further costly damage.

Adhering to a strict, scheduled maintenance plan prevents septic system repairs. An annual inspection and a pump-out every three to five years safeguard your system’s performance. Additionally, only flushing waste and toilet paper, installing drain filters, keeping nonapproved items out of the system, and avoiding excessive water use help maintain your septic system’s health and efficiency.
