"Drain pipes in wall behind sinks Had been leaking for long time without our being able to locate leak. While they were engaged we also used them to replace three toilets with new low-water styles which required the replacement of the mounting flange in kind bathroom. <br />They did excellent work, and although we did not obtain bids, based on the number of hours/days involved, I think we got good value <br />"

"Yesterday morning (Sat 05/09/15) I went to take a shower and I had no hot water. I checked the water heater and it wasn't working - the pilot light was off! I tried resetting the pilot light and it wouldn't reset. Fearing the worst (broken hot water heater) I checked on Angie's List for a plumbing repair company. I found Hometown Plumbing. I called and the person that answered said it would be $98 to check it (which, considering it was a Saturday was a fair price) and the repair person would be here in an hour. About an hour later, Tim Thomas (plumbing repairman) called as a courtesy and said he was still working on another customer, but would be leaving for my house in about 20 minutes, Within 30 minutes he arrived. He assessed the situation and fixed my problem within 10 minutes. (Burned out copper wire.) And had my hot water heater back in service. <br />"

"the service was worth every pennyWe have a slab foundation,so our water is routed through the <br /> attic/crawl-space to the different areas of our house. He, (William), <br /> offered to patch, (less expensive), or replace the bad segment. We went <br /> with replace. The poor guy was up there for 2hrs in 120 degree heat. His <br /> work was professional, neat, and clean. We;ve used Stan's before <br /> and most definitely will do so, if needed again. As to my B rating for price, <br /> this is our 1st home and I'm unfamilar with going rates. Would've liked to <br /> have paid less, but their quick service was worth every penny <br />"

"I was ghosted by several other contractors and given the run around before I contacted Old Ironside. Lee'o came out same day to give me a quote and started install the same week. The tile backsplash I picked out was glass herringbone and Dan installed it beautifully in my kitchen. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. The team of professionals working for Old Ironside are amazing and are the best at their craft! Lee'o communicated with me every step of the process and constantly checked up on the job. Old Ironside takes pride in their work and it shows! I will be using them for future projects that I have and I highly recommend them!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Taft, CA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
