"My water heater was making some noise so I called them to come out and look at it and clean/fix or replace if necessary. The cost was $240 and I debated whether to get a new standard 40 gallon gas water heater for the $1,000 they quoted me but I did not."

"Very quick booking and response time. Walked us through our gas lines and was very helpful. Seemed pricey for what we got (gas valve installed behind oven) but we were in a time crunch and they were kind."

"We have a 1921 bathtub with a drum trap drain.  It was starting to drain very slowly.  I had other plumbers tell me that they would not attempt to clean it as it would probably break.  The bids I got to replace it were anywhere from $800-$1,500.  That price didn't include what it would cost to repair my dining room ceiling which they would need to access to replace the drum trap.  Ryan Sahlberg owner of Citywide Plumbing came out to give me a bid.  He said he thought that it could probably be snaked out.  He sent Marty out to do the job and he was able to snake it.  Marty was great, he was very respectful of my property and really a nice guy. I am so grateful to Ryan for saving so much money and a big mess.  Both guys were very positive which I love when people come to work at my house.  I would absolutely recommend Citywide and I will be using them as my plumbers in the future. <br />"

"I called Dana because i had a gas leak in my dryer. His assistant told me he was booked out for a few weeks, but still managed to squeeze me in since she felt bad that I couldn't do laundry! He found the leak and fixed a pipe that wasn't up to regulation, and did it all in less than an hour. He was great. <br />"

"Mr. Zell began with an inspection of valve/tee and agreed that it needed to be replaced. Given that some of the pipe were galvanized and some copper AND he was not sure if he could access all items without tearing out walls he gave us an on the spot quotes. We agreed to proceed starting knowing what it might cost even if it were the worst case. After continued inspection he found that he could remedy the problem by replacing the valve/tee and replaced the section of galvanized pipe with a copper pipe with out tearing out walls or ceiling. He completed the task quickly. Now we have copper to copper piping as is proper. And, we have piece of mind that we will not have a ruptured tee in this area. We have had Mr Zell out for plumbing jobs several times and will continue to use his services."

"Scott arrived on time, assessed the leak, and quickly determined the problem was a simple replacement of the ball valve pipe. He walked me through the whole procedure and explained every step of the process as he replaced the leaking pipe. He made sure the problem was fixed, and there were no leaks in the system. He left the damaged pipe for me to do whatever I wanted with it. He cleaned up everything and was very personable. I would definitely recommend this company for any plumbing needs. I intend to use them for future plumbing projects to update my house."

"Everything was awesome!! He removed the old oil furnace and installed a new 2 stage propane furnace. He had to custom make the plenum to accommodate my outdoor wood boiler blower motor and even made a filter box for the boiler blower motor. Amazing work at a great price."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Taylors Falls, MN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
