"We checked Angie's List for a Plumber and there was one listed.  We called that plumber and they were not able to help us in the time frame we needed HOWEVER Henry Plumbing referred us to Tony Perks Plumbing,  Hooray for Henry's!  I called Tony's and they said they were not able to get to us today but could get to us in the time frame we needed.  However, one of their technicians finished a job earlier than anticipated and they called us then sent him right over. He was prompt, professional and quick.  He told s how to take care of our bill and was on his way.  We definitely recommend this company and will use him in the future. <br />"

"I highly recommend Savino Plumbing. They were recommended to me 3 years ago after using three other plumbers and we are steadfast customers now. Mike always answers the phone when I call and Josh always communicates how long before he will arrive at my home. I am always impressed with their professionalism and knowledge. Josh installed a water softener for me a year ago and then installed a replacement hot water heater today. Both of these installations were at our request and went smoothly and efficiently. They make sure everything is working as it should after the job is completed, clean up the work area, and communicate any directions and answer all of my questions thoroughly. I remarked they need to give customer service seminars. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again if I need work done!"

"My roof had sustained damage from recent severe storms in my area. I contacted several roofing companies, through internet searches and some local advertisers. I received a few inspections and multiple estimates, but wasn't satisfied or felt comfortable enough with any of those contractors to hire them do the job. So, I started asking around for referrals from friends and neighbors. My coworker recommended Braswell construction, since she's used their services before and were very pleased. I called right away, spoke to owner Chris Braswell, we setup an appointment and he came out the next day. He assessed the roof, and we both agreed that my entire roof needed immediate replacement. Chris was very professional, he explained all the details clearly for me to understand. Two days later his team were out replacing my roof. They did an excellent job, completed the roof and cleaned up the debris all in the same day. I am totally loving my new roof! it looks amazing, and I'm glad I went with the color shingles Chris suggested based off his experience...since I couldn't make up my mind picking a color. I am very glad I chose Braswell and would definitely recommend them in the future. The service was superb! Carolee"

"Absolutely top notch service. Our attic had not had any insulation added, probably since it's construction in the mid 70's. Paul came in and told me everything they would do and I was blown away. I had two bathroom vents just blowing that humid air into my attic making it worse and he fixed those up to code. The crew was very polite and made sure to clean up well after completing the work. I am 100% comfortable with his work and would not hesitate using his business again in the future."

"We are very satisfied with the work performed by MJ Connoly.  Pat was very knowledgeable and professional.  He gave us an estimate with several options on the type of walkway.  We decided to go with the EP Henry pavers.  It wasn't the cheapest choice, but we felt that ultimately it would provide the best value. <br /> We had our existing driveway expanded and resurfaced, with paver ribbons and borders installed.  The MJ Connoly crew arrived as scheduled, and did the job promptly and professionally.  We are getting a lot of compliments now on the new driveway and walkway. <br />"

"I use Bryan's company every year for my annual dryer vent cleaning, and as always, his service was excellent. He answered my voicemail promptly and was flexible with my schedule to make an appointment. On the scheduled day, he called before his arrival which was exactly on time. He then went about his tasks, but never seemed rushed. In fact, he is quite personable and makes the appointment more of a visit than an annual chore. His price is more than reasonable, and is a great deal for a necessary requirement to keep your home safe. I strongly recommend Bryan and his company"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Townsend, GA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
