"I LOVE Neli. I've used them three times now. Harmond (my Neli service man) is a joy to work with and an absolute walking encyclopedia of appliance repair. Our thirty-year-old washer are dryer are running like new, at a fraction of the cost of replacing them."

By trade I am a field service tech for electronic alarm systems (burglar, fire and CCTV) for over 8 years. Familiar and capable of many other trades. I handle almost all issues, repairs and upgrades for my own home. Any and all work I perform I treat it like my own home. I have too much pride in my work to do sloppy work.

"They explained everything they were doing while trying to repair our washer. When it became obvious the problem was the motor, they did not try to hard sell us into buying a new part. They explained our options and recommended buying a new or refurbished machine. They even took time to look at our balky oven for no extra charge."

I usually don't look forward to giving reviews because if I can't give a stellar review I'd rather not give any review -- just my nature. But with the Plumbing Doctor I have never had a better customer service experience than I had with John and his staff.

I had a pretty bad leaky outdoor faucet and when I saw the Big Deal for an outdoor faucet replacement I did an impulse buy hoping that's what I needed. John got back to me within the 2 days the deal said he would and we made an appointment within the next few days.

His serviceperson arrived on time and went to work. That's when we had a problem. When he was trying to change the assembly, it broke off inside of the wall between the inside and outside walls due to the way it was originally installed. He said he would have to open up my inside walls to get to it, which to me was not so much the problem as it was to getting to the wall as I have a one piece desk-hutch unit that hugs that corner of the wall and basically is non-moveable. Lucian (the plumber) had John call me and said even though opening up walls is not part of the basic service, they would cover it because the pipe broke while the technician was working on it. Whew! I was not ready for major plumbing expenses for a leaky faucet.

Lucian had to take apart some panels under my desk and make 2 holes in the wall before he able to fix and replace the broken section of pipe. When he was finished he said I would have to get someone else to fix the holes as he didn't know how to do that. I was a little disappointed but more concerned that mice or bugs would come in from the outside. About an hour later John called to ask if I was happy with the work done and I told him I still had holes in my wall, he said he wanted me to be "100% satisfied" and said he would send someone over to get them patched. Since that was a Friday, I received a call on Monday from a different gentleman who made an appointment for the next day to finish the job. He brought pieces of drywall and spackle and finished the job. He offered to come back when the plaster dried to sand it down but I told him not to bother that I would worry about it when I repainted the room since the patching was hidden behind the desk panel. He put everything back, cleaned up and wanted to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I cannot believe it. These guys were really concerned about getting the job done, on time and correctly. I would trust them with any plumbing job in the future. And, by the way, the faucet works great and doesn't leak!

"They responded very quickly via Angie's List text message once the deal was purchased.  They asked me to call to schedule the appointment.  I called and left a message that was never returned.  I then called again a week later, the call was answered, and we scheduled the service for later that afternoon.
When the tech showed up, he pulled the dishwasher out  and indicated that he would fix it for no charge if the spring had just come loose or had fallen off.  Unfortunately the spring was missing so he had to find the parts.  He also discovered a small leak underneath that he repaired.
After locating the parts (a single spring and small piece of plastic), he informed me that with the $30 that I had already paid for the deal (to be applied to any service performed), my total would still be $190, which seemed outrageously high for such a quick and minor repair.  When I balked a the price, he agreed to drop another $20 off, making the total $170.  Now, I don't know if  the price he charged me was fair, good, or outrageously high, but it certainly felt high.
All that said, the technician (Alex) was professional, polite, competent, and finished the job the same afternoon.  Based on the customer service I received from him, I would hire them again.  However, I would want to confirm pricing for any future jobs because they seemed arbitrary and expensive for the work that was actually performed.
