"Tim (Gas Plumber), who came to my house was so friendly, polite, and very knowledgeable. He took the time to fully explain the options and procedures for installing my gas range, as well as to answer my questions. He is very honest and transparent in sharing information and recommendations. I will not hesitate to call on them in the future."

"I called several places including those promising 24/7 service and Mattioni was the only one who could come out the same day. It was raining outside and we had no water so it was a bad day all around. The tech was very knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the bad pump. He replaces the pump and all the piping/cabling. They have a huge binder with all the pricing in it. You can get a discount if you join their "club" for $100. I did and it still saved me a few hundred. They came out for a complimentary whole house inspection and found another $1,000 worth of questionable work to do for inflated prices. They seem very good, but they are very expensive. I had to choice or time to shop around at the time.

"Showed up on time and placed on his booties. Went to the furnace and started to perform the cleaning. About 15 minutes he came up and said he had to get someone else to assist with the relief valve, and proceeded to let another person into the house, they both went into the furnace room and about 1/2 hour the newest entry came back up from the furnace room and said he had bad news and bad news.
1st bad news, was that the reserve tank must have a internal leak and that it would have to be replaced and the 2nd bad news was that the CO reading was 1116/ppm and that they would have to shut down my boiler or I would have to sign a release to free them on potential risk is they restarted the boiler.
I was floored, and scared, I thought my CO detector was suppose to alarm when CO went above 40. So they wrote up a estimate for replacing the 34 year old boiler 6,625 and an estimate to repair 1,350. I signed the release and then they left.
I went out and bought a CO detector with readings (which hasn't gone above 14) and I then proceeded to contact two more companies.
The one company pointed out where they took the CO reading, they drilled a hole in the flew and placed their probe inside. I don't know if this standard practice and yes I am replacing the boiler with a company that is more then 25% less, but this sounded to me like a scare tack to try and sell boiler/furnaces.

"Sink was COMPLETELY stopped up. Service person (Doug) seemed to be nice; first emptying the sink of water, then getting out his snake to get to work. Shortly, from another room, I heard moans and groans from the kitchen. Asking what was wrong, I learned that his snake had gotten stuck and he couldn't get it out. He went downstairs to the basement to work on trying to retrieve the snake cable from the cleanout down there, below the sink. He told me that on occasion, he's had to take out pipes between the kitchen sink and the basement sewer line in order to get his cable back, and that would cost upwards of above $600. He eventually retrieved his cable, but explained that it had gotten stuck because I had allowed the buildup of years and years of grease in the kitchen, and because I was foolish enough to have a garbage disposal, which allows the grease to build. He told me he had a drain cleaning powder that I could use to keep the drain clean, and one box would cost $50. I thanked him, but refused the offer. He did make it so the water would indeed go down the drain in the sink, now, and I can use my dishwasher. He was at the house for approximately 1 hr and 15 minutes, charging $457.50. Excessive, in my opinion. It's not my fault that his snake was caught (if it really was).
Is the drain clean? Cleaner than it was this morning, yes.
Will water go down? Yes. For now.
Would I recommend anyone using Chas. Moon Plumbing? Not unless you have a healthy bank account.
Will I ever call on them again? No.
UPDATE:
Moon & Company called today (Service Manager) and graciously offered a 15% discount for the service that I had here at the house, as described above. I thought that was very nice and generous of him/the company, and promised that I would report same.
