"I think the price was reasonable. It may have been a little on the high side. They had to get somebody else in to do the ceiling. That was the part that was a little expensive. They were professional and knowledgeable. They took care of us."

"I had several companies large & small provide me quotes to install a new HVAC system in my home. I finally decided to have a Gas Furnace and Heat pump installed (Lennox) and Darrell from Alternative heating and Cooling was very interested in what I wanted and worked with me to put a package together. He was very thorough looking at the current set-up and what I would need to have done and what was best for my home. He provided what was promised and completed the installation of both units in one day. I could not have asked for any better service! I highly recommend Alternative H & C and will use them for all my annual HVAC service visits."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Upland, IN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
