I also used John Krause for a repair to my shed from water damage again Daniel and his partner did an excellent job for me. Very please with Daniel and his work. I believe Daniel is a sub-contractor for John Krause, but none the less in my opinion he did really good work and communicated with every step of the way."

"This was definitely a 5 star operation from the initial discussions to the finishing touches! For a major renovation and upgrade to our master bathroom we reviewed potential contractors and their customer comments. VKB stood out. Our VKB designer Sean clearly has artistic talent and lots of design experience. He patiently worked with us, showing us 3D design options as we considered alternative configurations and materials. When we were satisfied with the design, Sean transitioned us smoothly to the build phase, introducing Jason as our project manager and Walter as our crew chief. Sean personally familiarized Jason with the project, inviting us to share our thoughts and any concerns. During the renovation, Walter and his crew would carefully isolate the MBR work from the rest of the house, sealing off the room and path to the front door with plastic barriers and floor coverings every morning and remove them every evening. Everyone was polite and sensitive to our living space. Jason was responsive to our wishes to refine several design aspects as the work proceeded, and Walter and his crew smoothly made the alterations. After the main construction was completed Jason remained very attentive to our ‘punch list’ of remaining details and our questions until all had been resolved. Walter ensured very high-quality work down to the finest detail. All the work from design to completion was well within the timeframe we had hoped. In the end, we have a beautiful MBR well beyond our original expectations!"

"- I've owned several homes and have had lots of contract work done on them.  This was probably the best service I've ever had.  The initial contact was smooth and easy.  The estimator was on time and, as became clearer as he worked, he was very experienced in hands-on home construction in general and roofing in particular.  The work crew showed up at 7:30 on the scheduled day and worked until dark  The job took 2 1/2 days, beating the estimate by 1/2 day.  The crew were the hardest working and politest workmen I think I've ever met.  The cleanup was near perfect - I think I've found 3 nails. <br />  One of the things that pleased us were the extra touches such as the repair of a piece of slipped siding, the careful removal of a forgotten string of Christmas lights, the near-perfect realignment of the satellite TV antenna, and other items.  We were extremely pleased with the treatment they gave to the main fireplace chimney.  Although the chimney had been installed when the house was built in 1997, it never appeared "right."  It wasn't until our job was estimated that we learned that the chimney had not been installed correctly.  As a consequence metal was rusted and the flashing lay on top of the shingles instead of under.  When the repair was completed, the chimney was a beautiful, integral part of the structure. <br /> Great job. <br />"

Used kiln dried fir wood as opposed to wet pine you typically purchase at the local home improvement stores. <br /> Double K also installed fire blocks (not in original scope of work) that were necessary to pass the local framing permit inspection. Neal was very helpful assisting me with my design concepts and provided solutions to some design flaws that did not occur to me until he pointed them out. I would like to also add the drywall contractor asked me who did the framing because he was very impressed with the workmanship. I would use Double K Contractors Inc. again. "I get them for everything they do. I know the owner personally, and I have used them for about fifteen years now off and on. They are not the cheapest folks in the world, but when they do a job, it is done right. I had some problems with one skylight outside the warranty period and the owner came out himself. He got up there, looked at it, and cleaned out some debris that had accumulated. He got a hose up, washed it down, and blew it all out. I never had a problem with it since, and that was two or three years after warranty. He assured me that it did not need replacing. They do not do unnecessary work. That impressed me. I like everything about their service and everything about their people. They are on time. They do what they say they are going to do. They are very conscientious. The workmen clean up after themselves. Anything you want out of a construction company, these guys do it well."
