"Barbara Barnagut was absolutely fantastic in performing repairs to old pipes and joints in our 90-year old family home which we were preparing to sell. She was candid about the repairs that were needed and the pros and cons of various repair approaches. She outlined a plan that would keep the costs as low as possible while effectively resolving the problems. It was important that I be able to trust her because the house was unoccupied and there was no one on-site to let her in/out of the house, show her around the home, or be present during the repairs. At every juncture, Barbara proved that she could be trusted; she respected our property and performed everything she said she would, always keeping me informed via calls, texts, and pictures of the completed repairs. "I found Mako Plumbing & Heating, Inc. using Angie's List and I selected them because they were rated highly and were nearby. Jay did a fantastic job. He arrived on time and was extremely professional throughout the entire repair. He even brought his own doormat to wipe his shoes on before entering the house. He provided estimates before starting the repairs and made sure I clearly understood what repairs needed to be done. Originally, we thought only one pipe (coming out of the house) needed to be replaced that fed the sprinkler system, but Jay discovered that the vacuum breaker had also cracked. Since he didn't have that part on his truck, he went to a plumbing supply store that was a little farther away to buy a good quality part rather than to a big box store. He returned promptly and replaced the broken vacuum breaker carefully. Throughout the entire repair, Jay was willing to answer all of my many questions, and he explained each part of the process as he was doing it. He checked both the toilet and the pipe feeding the sprinkler for leaks when he had finished the repair and made sure everything was working properly. I even observed that Jay kept a very clean and neat truck with everything labeled clearly so it could be found easily. Also, when I called to make the appointment, the woman on the phone, who was extremely polite, suggested that I take the first appointment in the day so there would be no waiting. I admire those who clearly take pride in their work and who complete their work carefully and competently. I would highly recommend Jay as a service technician as well as Mako Plumbing & Heating, Inc."

"From the appearance the job looked good, but there was a wet sink and a half bathroom that has not been used for many years and they removed all of the piping to those fixtures without my permission. There was also a fuel oil leak that I had to fix."

They cleaned up after themselves and even moved the furniture back in place. Bonus were the little odds and ends that were not part of the job that they glued or fixed for me without prompting. "We had a leaking faucet in our bathtub. They put in a new faucet set. Also added in a shutoff valve and put in an access panel for future use. I think the price was fair, and the quality of the work was very good. I would use them again for future projects and I would recommend them."

"They came out on a weekend and we're our saving grace during one of the most frustrating experiences we've had in this house. We couldn't use any plumbing without flooding the basement with sewage, it was early stay at home days, and we felt like we would go mad. They showed up and gave us an price for replacing the broken pipe, and set in to work. They worked for the entire weekend essentially, staying extremely late at night and showing up early the next morning, and at one point driving far out at night to get supplies since their usual local place was closed (again, quarantine time) . The reason it took so long was because after opening up the floor to get to the end of the pipe to replace it they found more damaged pipes, and replaced those as well. By the end of it they had spent the entire weekend on a job they expected to only last an afternoon, had charged us not nearly enough for the amount of work they did, and fixed a leaking bidet we had for free for good measure. They also advised us to do camera scan to look for any other problems, which they couldn't do until the water drained out, and even did an initial mop of the basement (which, remember, sewage flooding). I'm honestly half convinced these people are magic helpful brownies or something, it's unreal how helpful they were! Somehow our drier which has not succeeded in drying clothes for over a year has started working in a single cycle since they left, despite the fact they didn't even do anything with it, and in fact specifically said they don't do driers and offered to recommend someone else when we mentioned it. Suffice to say, I cannot recommend them highly enough"
