"I hired the wrong person initially to replace my polybutylene pipe. After over 2.5 months of continuing leaks I decided to have the work replaced. Glen from Ragsdale came over to give an estimate. He fixed where water was coming into the family room from the upstairs bathroom. He inspected the rest of the work done. The estimate from Ragsdale was significantly less than the other estimates I got including the repair he did that day. Glen and his assistant came and did the job in 8 hours. They were polite and professional . I wish I had hired them from the beginning. It would have saved me a lot of money, anxiety and damage to my home. I will call them for future plumbing needs."

"They replaced a gas pipe (about 35 feet) and the original quote was $1,160.00, but ended up being $1,900.00+ when they finished because of the materials they had to purchase. While they explained that the materials may increase the quoted price, they did not indicate that it might be $800 or more. Aside from this, the Company and the Plumber they sent were very professional and the quality of work was great. Next time, however, I will know to request specifics regarding additional materials cost, and I advise others to do so as well."

"It pains me to write a review like this, but I am going to as a warning to others out there. I was in distress when I hired these guys to replace my water main. I'd been billed for an extra 15000 gallons of water in a single month, and there was absolutely no indication where this water had gone. I had no mud puddles in the yard, no smells, nothing. I was greatly concerned there was a cavern being opened up under my slab, and I needed a solution quickly. Now that I have hindsight, I think it is important to tell everyone about my experience as honestly as possible. For the good side, I was able to get someone from Plumbpros on a Friday afternoon. We opened the water bill that morning which alerted us to a problem. I tried turning off everything at the cut off valve in the house and the meter was still spinning. Turning off at the street stopped the meter, proving beyond doubt my main line from the street to the house was broken. By about 5 or 6pm, we had a plumber on site. It went down hill from there. In my worried state, I AGREED TO A BAD SOLUTION. I take full responsibility for allowing them to schedule and install things the way they did, but I believe wholeheartedly that they should not have recommended this solution. I will explain. They recommended abandoning the original water line completely and allowing them to run a new one using PEX. The original was copper, I am pretty sure. I was fine with PEX as most people would be. The problem is that rather than running the line under the slab and into the water heater closet in the garage, they opted to bore into the slab right on the outside wall and install the line using clamps right into the sheet rock, around the top of the wall, and through a hole into the water heater closet. I will NEVER understand why I agreed to having it done this way except to say that with 15k gallons of water pooling under my house, I was pretty stressed about a much greater problem if this wasn't stopped immediately. I believe the technical plumbing details of the work were good. I am not worried that I will have another leak or that anything will necessarily go wrong with what they installed. I do however believe that in order to restore value to my home I will have to have another contractor come in and at least redo the part from the yard into the water heater closet so that it is properly located under the house. If I am extremely lucky, this will be able to be done without tearing up the yard again. Speaking of tearing up the yard. The dig team cut my sprinkler. Plumbpros fixed that as part of the job without charging any extra, but they left the pipes excavated and exposed. So I had to get out there with my shovel and a rake after work and start working to refill the holes they left. I found that my sprinkler system valves were dug up, so I also had to rebury those as well. It was slapdash and should have been included in the price they charged for the job. I also watched as the plumber was working and noticed he was about to use a plastic coupling. He had assured me they only use brass. When I asked he said everybody uses them all the time, but then proceeded to install a brass part. Again, I hate leaving a less than stellar review for anyone. Especially when they give me a guilt trip on the way out from the job about how a good review is something they need. But I simply cannot provide a perfect review especially when I now feel taken advantage of and left with a mess."

"We had Marshall Plumbing out a few months back. The job wasn't huge but definitely difficult. The supply line from the water meter, under our driveway, had a leak. That's right, under the driveway. I had visions of a ripped up driveway, trench diggers, etc.. But Mike and team were able to do some nifty work to pull another pipe underneath using the old pipe. When I say, pull I mean, hooking it up with a high-strength cable to two trucks, using one as a anchor and the other one pulling. It was amazing. There was no guarantee it would work and it was not without difficulties. There were several times I thought they weren't going to be able to pull it all through but they kept working at it and it finally got through. On top of the hard work, the price was REALLY reasonable, especially compared to the significantly more expensive options if that didn't work. We will be switching to Marshall Plumbing for all our plumbing needs. Thanks Mike."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Waleska, GA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
