"My experience with Chuck and Michael and Son exceeded all expectations! When Chuck arrived, he set clear expectations on what to expect during his time at my home. He was so courteous and personable. He even wore booties to protect my floors without my asking! He was the most thorough technician I have ever had at my home. He put me at ease with his thorough inspection of my electrical system after we experienced issues in our panel. My overall experience was fantastic from the initial call to the completion of the job. He cleaned up after himself. Iâ d give Chuck and Michael and Sons 100 stars if it were an option. I will definitely be using them again!"

"Called Chisholm due to the heat not working at my house.  An appointment was scheduled and they arrived earlier than the appointment time.  Technician ( I think his name was Trevor) checked the gas pack and discovered that a motor was not working.  He was able to locate a part the same day and installed it too.  He also noticed some issues with our duct work downstairs and repaired that too.  He was very professional and polite.  Will definitely consider them for any other HVAC services we need. <br />"

"Ed, who provided the estimate, was very prompt and professional. . However, I had to call and email Bodenheimer several times before they sent out an estimate; it took almost 2 weeks. <br /> Still, we chose Bodenheimer after weighing all of our proposals. We original set a date in January, but I had to cancel because of some changes to my work schedule. Dave, who schedules the appointments, told me to call back when we could reschedule. <br /> After some back and forth, we set a date. The week prior to the job, I called Dave to set inquire about changing the project plans. I wanted to install a sink in the garage, and wanted to see if they could adjust for that. I never heard back from Dave, so the sink was never installed. <br /> On the day of the project, the workers were prompt and professional. They were minimally invasive and completed the project in one (1) day. <br /> As far as the overall project, I was very happy with the end result, but there were several issues I found that I take partial blame for. First, the some of the polybutylene was left in the ceiling. While it was disconnected and drained as best as possible, the workers stated they couldn't pull it out without taking out more of the ceiling. I should have just had them take it all out (to avoid any mold issues, or leak), but I wasn't sure if we were going to demo the ceiling or just sheet rock over afterwards. The second issue I had was with how the new pipes were connected to the sinks and toilets. In stead of using the existing connections, the worked drilled new holes through the floor and cabinets. Again, I'm stuck with water hooks up in my wall and under cabinets that aren't connected to anything and need to be sealed. <br /> Their methods were probably the  most cost effective and less invasive way to complete the project, but now I'm left with more stuff to figure out. I should have asked better questions, but I also feel Bodenheimer should have explained how they were going to run pipes to the fixtures and explained any complications that could have emerged (not being able to get all of the poly pipes out of the ceiling) during the project. <br /> Overall, I'm happy with how the project turned out. Their price was excellent, they were on-time and professional when I interacted with them face-to-face. However, their sustained lack of response to my phone calls, combined with my slight disappointment with the final installation (I take partial blame, which is why I gave them a B and not a C), I just can't give them an A overall. <br /> <br />"

"I first called Sink when there was a leak from the back of the toilet in my 1/2 bath. They came out the next day and diagnosed the leak as the bolt/seal on the tank was leaking onto the pedestal. It was an easy fix. While the plumber (Mike) was in the house I asked him about the overflow water pipe on the air-conditioner, which overflowed about twice a year. The air-conditioner is in a closet and mounted on the wall over a low-boy water tank. He said the piping was installed incorrectly over the water heater and the sludge could not flow freely, which caused the water to backup and overflow onto the floor. Because I was having new hardwood floors installed I was also worried about the water heater which was almost 20 years. Mike gave me his opinion on how long water heaters last.  Sink's office called the next day and quoted a price of $1100.00 for installation of a new water heater, an extension tank, and re-piping of the air-conditioning pipe over the water heater. They came 1 week later and lucky for me Mike did the installation. Everything was installed in 2.5 hours. I was also glad I got a new water heater. The old one had starting seeping on the bottom. I appreciated Mike's honesty about the air-conditioning piping when he came out the first time . It made the sticker shock of the price easier to bear. <br />"

"One evening I discovered that two of my outdoor spickets were leaking. The lead pipes had busted and needed to be replaced. I called a few companies, and of the couple that called me back neither could come until the following week, hense the B for responsiveness. But it wasn't an urgent matter. I think they quoted $35 just to come out which also covered the first 30 minutes of service. The gentleman was on time, courteous and friendly. He didn't have all of the necessary parts to fix both faucets so he had to leave to buy more parts. I was happily surprised that he didn't charge me for the time spent getting the extra parts. It took him just about the 30 minutes to actually do the work and I didn't get charged for anymore time than that. The parts, however, were not cheap and I think were more than the cost of his time on the job. I would use them again."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Walkertown, NC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
