"Not sure why this company gets so many 'A' ratings. My experience with them was not very satisfactory and it would be the last time I use them. First of all, I was drawn by their promotion of $99 for 2 hours work. When the technician showed up, it wasn't long before he started his sales pitch - started outlining things around the house that needed to be fixed and asking me for a wish list. Since he was late to begin with, spent time on sales talk and tried to sign me up for a service plan, he actually started on the work an hour and 20 min late. He came back from a diagnosis (I told him what the problem was) of my attic lighting problem and told me he needed to call around for a replacement part. After calling around for 20 min and not being able to locate the part, he packed for the day. So my 2 hours of prepaid labor was pretty much used up with nothing to show. The technician showed up several days later and came back with an enlightened and enhanced diagnosis where new problems were found. He did some rewiring, removed an old receptable and tightened loose wiring, installed a junction box and extended the circuit 4 feet to the junction box. Not sure why this could not be done during the prepaid two hours of the first visit. Since the charges was way more than I expected, I asked if I could use his company's coupon. He called his boss and was told that they would not honor the coupon. After a long evening, we agreed out of exhaustion to his additional bill of $650. All in we paid more than $750 in the end. My word of caution to others contemplating this provider or time based offers is to be careful and account for the time when the technician steps into your house. In fairness, the technician was pleasant but I felt he was under tremendous pressure to 'produce' revenue for taking his van out to customer sites."

"He and his crew showed up on time and worked all day until the job was completed in the kitchen. For the work in our bedroom where a mirror had fallen off the wall and caused a problem in outlet box he came at 7:30p.m. and had the problem repaired within the hour. I was not home and my wife was very pleased with the promptness of his response and the repair.

"This is the second time i have used this company. Their electrician, Brian, is very professional and knowledgeable. Brian also did the first job i hired this company for, and was so good that i requested him for this job.  He did the design & layout, and installation of the recessed lighting. He made sure to cover his shoes so he didn't get my new light color carpeting dirty, and covered the dining room floor with a drop cloth. He made the holes so perfect that it did not damage the ceiling at all.
Now, as far as their office goes, very poor response. Don't get me wrong, they are friendly, but when you call to set up appointments, about a job, or products they promise you a call back and never do. You end up having to call them every time. Their electrician Brian is the only reason i put up with it (he is that good)
They offer $25 referrals. I referred my neighbor who used them over the summer and didn't receive anything. I had to called several times about it before receiving the referral bonus. Makes me wonder how many people i referred to them that used them.

"Dave Polo has a great online scheduling system, that makes it very easy for see his availabilty and his prices. The price above included a septic tank inspection by BeachStone Septic Corporation that Dave engaged and who were also very professional, very through and a great source of information. Dave was very thorough, we began on the roof and then worked ourselves around the outside of the house. We took notes as he mentioned things and he used his handy recorder to help him with his notes to put into the report. Our house has 3000 sq. ft and I feel confident that he covered much of that area. He was very thorough - looking high and looking low, pointing out the good, the bad and the things for us to improve the condition of the house. His report was about 8-9 pages and very detailed. It was a great source to go back to the sellers and asked for the significant things to be addressed or help us with some $$$."

"They have always fixed the problems that we've had. Frustrations? Delays? At times. We live in a flawed world. But overall, service has been professional and well done. It has always been worth the monthly fee and deductibles. If you consider that most appliances today only last five years or so, breakdowns are going to be a given. Our most recent repair will require at least two service calls and an $1800 part. That more than pays for our entire year's fees."

FAQs for swimming pool heaters repair or service projects in Warren, NJ

Replacing a pool heater costs $3,000 on average. Final pricing depends on the type of heater (gas, electric, or solar) and your pool's size. Factor for swimming pool repair costs, at an average of $3,800. When you start experiencing issues with your pool heater, other equipment and structural failures often follow. Installation is often the least expensive for electric and gas heaters. Heat pumps and solar panels often cost several thousand dollars more to install.

A pool heater’s lifespan is determined by its type and proper upkeep. Solar heaters last 20 to 25 years, electric heat pumps perform for five to 10 years, and gas heaters remain effective for 5 years. Regular pool maintenance safeguards performance and prevents premature failure. Ensuring that you adhere to a strict annual service schedule protects your investment and maintains consistent heating efficiency.

Depending on the size of your pool, location, climate, and current energy prices, you’ll spend up to $20 per hour to heat a pool using propane, $9 per hour using natural gas, and $1 to $2 per hour for a heat pump. Northern climates require more energy and can double the price. Standard estimates allow homeowners to easily estimate the cost of heating a pool for a month. Propane heaters, for example, are known to burn around 1 gallon per hour per 100,000 BTUs.

An electric or gas heat pump will take eight to 14 hours to heat a pool, while a solar heat pump takes 24 to 72 hours. Multiply the number of gallons by 8.34 to get your total pounds of water. Divide this figure by your heater's BTU rating to determine how many hours it takes to raise the water temperature by 1 degree Fahrenheit.

If your pool heater is not raising the water temperature to the desired level, the issue is caused by cold ambient conditions rather than a malfunction. The best solution is to install a solar cover that locks in heat and boosts efficiency. A solar cover costing $120 to $250 enhances heat retention, ensuring your heater performs at its peak. Additionally, verify that all settings—such as thermostat calibration and water circulation—are properly adjusted to support optimal heating.

Regular annual maintenance is crucial to keep your pool heater running efficiently and to avoid high repair costs. Investing $100 to $200 in yearly maintenance prevents issues such as excessive noise, surging energy bills, and malfunctioning controls. This proactive care not only prolongs your heater’s lifespan but also ensures reliable performance throughout the season. Always refer to your warranty guidelines to follow the required maintenance procedures.
