"Highly recommend Disciple Masonry. I had stone pointing completed at the front of my house, chimney repointed, crown replaced, and cap added. Everyone on the team is professional, responsive, and courteous. Nathan on the office side does a great job with follow-up and keeping you informed. Charles came out to give me a quote, he was very knowledgeable, spent time answering questions, and providing options. The work-crew, Scott, Jake, and Derek did a great job working together to ensure everything was completed in a quality manner and were experts in their skill. Scott took time to speak with me on both days, followed up on my questions, shared pictures from roof advantage, and took time to explain everything. Scott was helpful and adept in his profession. Overall stellar masonry workmanship, and a great team"

"Outdoor Assets did a great job. We needed a concrete slab for our garage and the owner educated me on the process. They completed the concrete slab before the necessary completion date and were able to work with our budget, as well. The company was highly organized, very professional and always cleaned up their work area at the end of the day. I would highly recommend using Outdoor Assets for any concrete and masonry work!"

"I was in need of a professional Tree service due to a nice-sized branch falling onto my neighbor's walkway. Called a few services and decided to go with Taperia Tree Service after meeting Tony. My goal was to have the tree cut completely down. Tony and crew were able to come out the next day. It was very impressive to see the job completed in one day. They also did an excellent job of cleaning the work area (property and street). Taperia Tree Service will be the first call or recommendation if ever a tree service project is needed again. Trust me, this kind of project is best left to the professionals."

"Andy, Rob, Jeremiah and Dave were pleasant to work with and did excellent work. They give great attention to detail and take pride in their work. They matched the color of the mortar to the original on our historic home. Damaged bricks were repaired to perfection. Previous flaws are imperceptible. And, after cleaning, the 100 year old brick looks like new."

"We already had kitchen designs and architectural specifications, however several contractors that met with us never provided estimates or flat-out ghosted us. I was getting a quote for hardwood flooring when I mentioned how much trouble we were having finding a company to demo our cold 1970s kitchen and install our state of the art open concept kitchen. The flooring contractor thankfully recommended Jim at JRL designs Inc. When Jim and I first spoke he wasn't going to take the job because he is also a designer and was not comfortable being in charge of a kitchen project when he was uncertain about the quality of the kitchen design. However, he agreed to meet with us and scope out the work. Thankfully he agreed to take the job. We were thrilled. We had been in flux with our cabinets in climate controlled storage for almost a year. Jim filed all the appropriate permits and set up all the inspections. We live in Upper Dublin Township and they are notorious for having a difficult permitting process… perhaps why we were having so much trouble finding a contractor. We set up our temporary kitchen in our den in preparation for the demo that started March 11, 2020. Jim set up containment, closing off the 20+ foot long opening to the kitchen from the rest of our house. I was concerned about construction dust around my family, my husband is asthmatic and I didn't want my children, one of which was six weeks old at the time, breathing it in. When we pulled up the carpet in the kitchen (that's right we had wall to wall carpet in the kitchen!), we had to also remove the 300 square feet of asbestos floor tile that was beneath it. We took everything out down to the studs. Demo was completed on March 12, 2020. The very next day All non-essential businesses were shut down due to covid-19. We were beginning to feel like our kitchen was cursed. Jim immediately started filing our paperwork to plead our case given our circumstances without a kitchen, including providing us with a portable dishwasher! That was a game-changer. It took several weeks, but the state approved the project to move forward and work began again. Jim purchased additional UV filters and HEPA filters to protect us, as well as, all of his subcontractors. Jim followed all social distancing rules and insisted that everyone help dead too. It kept me at ease during an already difficult situation for everyone. . Work was slow given social distancing, but Jim and his contractors stayed at it. All unforeseen issues were clearly communicated. Change orders and invoices or orderly and easy to track. Jim is an excellent Communicator which was greatly appreciated. So many things continued to go wrong, NONE of which were Jim's fault. One example was the countertops that I had picked out and put a deposit down on a year beforehand, were sold out from underneath me. I was furious and made repeated trips back to the warehouse to look at new slabs, none of which had the look I was going for. Once again, Jim stepped in and suggested I try a different vendor that he always deals with. The first trip there I found a slab that was even more beautiful than the original one I had picked out. He even worked out a deal that had the new vendor match the price I was given at the previous countertop company. We fondly refer to Jim as Saint James these days! Our kitchen is stunning! I love love love it! We plan to use Jim again when we tackle our1960s and 1970s style bathrooms, one of which has silver and gold foil wallpaper on the ceiling!"

"This is the second time we've hired John. He's responsive, punctual and very easy to work with. He cleans the work area daily and his work is impeccable. Before installation of the brick, he had to remove a Corian backsplash. This was his first brick backsplash and we couldn't be happier. In terms of cost, I couldn't tell you if he's high, low or average because he's' the only person I called. Also, the first time we hired him, about 4 years ago, he installed a porcelain tile floor which garners compliments all the time."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Warrington, PA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
