"Colosseum Remodeling did exactly what they said they would do and for the price they quoted. We had remodels in our previous homes, but these guys were by far the best. They had great work ethic, they communicated clearly and professionally and they made sure everything was completed to and beyond code. This is the 2nd project they did for us and we will be calling them again."

"My wife and I purchased a charming brick ranch home from the 1970s with dreams of transforming it into our ideal living space. Our first project was opening up the kitchen/family room to the living room by removing a load-bearing wall—definitely not a DIY job. We posted our project on Angie’s List and were soon contacted by Isai Huezo, owner of Huezo’s Construction LLC. Isai visited us the next day, and his estimate was so reasonable that we eagerly hired them on the spot. On Monday, a professional crew of four, led by a foreman, arrived promptly at 7:00 AM and got straight to work. They were not only highly skilled but also incredibly polite, keeping the work area immaculate during the demolition. By the second day, the team had seamlessly removed the remaining 2x4s, installed a robust lintel beam, and perfectly matched the drywall and trim to the rest of the house. We also had an outdated picket wall around the basement stairs. Isai recommended modernizing it with a sleek 3-foot wall, and it was completed within the three-day timeframe. Thrilled with their exceptional work, we discussed adding a dream screen porch and deck. The estimate was too good to pass up, so we went ahead. The results were nothing short of spectacular. The screen porch was beautifully integrated with the roof joists, and the deck, built on sturdy 6x6 posts and attached to the house, was a masterpiece. The porch featured custom wiring for lights, a ceiling fan, and outdoor floodlights, with a stunning tongue-and-groove pine ceiling stained in a glossy walnut finish. The craftsmanship was top-tier, and the crew's professionalism and courtesy made the entire experience a delight. Encouraged by their success, we tackled our outdated 1970s kitchen next. Isai returned to vent and wire the microwave, install LED lighting, and add a sconce light. He even refinished the ceiling and windows. After removing the cabinets, Isai didn’t miss a beat, finishing the ceiling, painting the trim and windows, and installing a beautiful tile backsplash. When we realized our old appliances didn’t match the newly renovated space, Isai went above and beyond, helping us select and purchase new appliances and offering to install them. Huezo Construction exceeded our expectations in every way with their exceptional craftsmanship, incredible value, and the wonderful camaraderie we developed with Isai and his crew. We eagerly anticipate remodeling the bathrooms and building a concrete back porch with them. I wholeheartedly recommend Huezo’s Construction for any project."

"Matt was prompt with his response to our request for an estimate. He worked within the rates provided by the penny pinching insurance company. He stayed in contact with us throughout the two month long project. He took a bare stud and concrete gutted basement and turned it back into a great living space. He was flexible as our plans changed. The guy is a true jack of all trades. The project took longer than we wanted, but not all of the delay was the contractor's fault. He was also amenable to our expectations that minor defects be fixed. <br /> We intend to employ him again to work around our home. <br />"

"This is an added review for Paul Robbins Woodworking because we hired him to do a much more extensive (and expensive) job following our previous review, that of remodeling our kitchen. Mr. Robbin's work continues to impress us. He is careful, professional, thorough and sticks to the schedule. He is able to bring help in when needed to provide complete service. If he did not hire the help or subcontractor himself, he made excellent recommendations of providers or sources. He is well organized and was able to guide us in scheduling materials. We provided the kitchen design and sourced most of the materials to save money and Paul worked with our plan and materials. He was able to put new cabinetry and appliances into a 60 year old house, making them level and plum. Because of his woodworking experience, he was able to finish trims, spacers, and floor transitions that looked fitted and appropriate to the old and new parts of the house. I would recommend this contractor to anyone who is renovating or remodeling any room in the house."

"Everything went very smoothly.  Gary showed up for his appointments to view our requirements on time and was knowledgeable and personable.  Once under contract, both he and his co-worker, Rick, worked very hard and competently.  They let us know if they needed any supplies but always were able to continue on with the work.  The end result is seriously wonderful.  We are so happy - and both Gary and Rick have been in touch to follow-up and make sure that we are entirely happy and satisfied.  We will definitely use GPR Handyman Service again. <br />"

"Mike was the only contractor to call us back right away.  He showed up when he said he was going to show up - he called when he said he was going to call.  Installation took 3 days and each time - he called on time and showed up on time.  Very happy with his service and highly recommend."

"He came up to us while we were doing yard work, handed us a flyer and a business card, told us what he is able to do and for better prices. We started talking about the issues we had with roof, he gave us a price and we hired him on the spot. Met him to get materials, he had our leak and horrible roof fixed in TWO DAYS, clean up and all, he was on time, and didn't stay too late. it was a great new start. we plan on calling him back and having him fix some issues in house next."

"WOW!  WOW!  Mr. Trow does excellent work.  We were extremely pleased with the end result.  Mr. Trow and his sons pay attention to the details and do the job right.  Sometimes that means it takes a little longer, but that was okay with us as he always explained to us what was happening and why.  Mr. Trow's professionalism and his tradecraft are excellent.  Everything about this experience was painless working with Mr. Trow."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Waynesboro, VA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
