"on time, and knowledgeable the technician did the job well. Also, I had a problem changing the furnace filter. The filter was getting stuck when taking it out or installing. He repaired that too."

"We had a continuous leak from the old water heate, which went undetected for several months, causing a problem with humidity and mold in the basement.  The mold remediation company recommended John and coordinated with him to be sure he would be willing to work in the basement environment, which would require wearing protective equipment due to the mold problem.  John was able to replace the water heater the next day. He was very professional and very understanding about the condition of the basement. He also was able to give me some tips on other work that I might want to have done once the basement is restored. I would definitely use his services again if the need arises.

"Went very well. TDH services my two furnaces and one humidifier every autumn to assure trouble-tree operations. Their technicians have always been thorough, knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and professional; an this year's visit, by technician Gelacio, was no exception. Together with TDH's fair price, this keeps me a satisfied customer."

"I looked on A’s list and saw C&J Plumbing and called. Dmitriy answered, asked my location and if I were home. He was at my door in ten minutes and solved the problem in three more. He also listened and followed me around my townhouse to see if the mystery of the flood could be solved. There is a pump that takes overflow and condensation to the city pipes and his thought was that it may have failed and then started again. He advised I check the drain that leads to it each night and call them if it starts to back up. I asked how much and he said, “Don’t worry about it.” COURTEOUS. AVAILABLE KNOWLEDGEABLE WITH NO HUSTLE OR HARD SELL!!! I found my plumbers!"

"This company, and the Owner Ted Owano in particular, are wonderful people to do business with.  I had a problem with my furnace.  Ted and his assistant came over and assessed the problems (which were faulty valves + problems with the humidifier).  They were able to get the parts and finish the job.  In the meantime, Ted noticed that there were safety problems with not only my heating system, but the water heater AND my dryer vent.  I am a widow and am on my own.  Ted was able to fix all of these items.   I would  very highly recommend this company.  I trust them, which is very important to me; and they got the job done.  Ted is conscientious, personable and very willing to "go the extra mile" to be able to have a happy and satisfied customer.  In my case, ignorance may be bliss, but dangerous.  Ted is my "go to guy" when it comes to repairs at my house.

Thank you Ted!!!"

"It went fine even though I didn't need their service. I had also contacted a plumber who determined it was from an AC backed up pipe. Dominick still came out and verified the situation. He also was professional to offer a quote on the ejector pump which was lower than the plumber. The plumber matched that price. He also checked out our sump pump as a courtesy. I didn't need Reliable's services but I would recommend them just for their professionalism and honesty."

FAQs for well pump repair or service projects in West Chicago, IL

A standard well inspection begins with a visual inspection of the pump, casing, storage tank, and wiring, followed by flow rate tests and laboratory-based water sampling. The goal is to confirm that every part meets safety standards and to identify any necessary repairs before they become expensive. An inspector will also test your water quality for substances such as volatile organic compounds and any local containment concerns.

Book a licensed, insured well specialist for your inspection. Many well‑pump contractors also hold inspection credentials. They’ll bring the right tools to assess the pump, wiring, and water quality, and provide you with a clear report on any necessary fixes. Before you hire, confirm their license, insurance, and recent customer reviews.

Plan on a full well inspection every year. You’ll also want one any time the cap comes off, after septic repairs, or if flooding occurs. Annual tests look for total and fecal coliform; every two years, the lab should screen for metals and nitrates, and every five years for VOCs and pesticides. If you’re buying a home with a private well, it’s essential to schedule a pre-purchase inspection.

With routine care, most wells supply clean water for up to 40 years. Lifespan depends on the type and how well you protect it. To help it reach the maximum lifespan, keep hazardous products far from the casing, ensure the cap stays sealed, schedule yearly inspections, and address problems as soon as they appear. Good habits keep the system healthy and the water safe.

The average cost of well repairs ranges from $100 to $2,800. Your final bill depends on which part—pump, pressure tank, casing, or piping—needs attention and the level of complexity involved in the repair. A thorough inspection identifies the problem, allowing you to budget accurately and avoid paying for unnecessary parts or services.
