"The star is for the technician being very professional. We has a new AC unit installed 08/30/23 and the compressor already went out on 07/02/24, and we have to wait 2 weeks to get a replacement in 80-100 degree weather and no air condition with 2 dogs in the house. First it was 9 days now nor it is 14 days for the part .The unit could not be replaced or a compressor taken from another unit"

"Having talked to Mr. Long several times decided to get quote and have work done. He came out gave me a quote of 6600 with a 300 rebate. I said okay ready to go what do we need he said 5k up front no problem paid him on 5-20. Said would be able to get done by end of following week. Well didn't hear from Mr long so I contacted him via text on may 27th said something came up would be the following tues or wed. again didn't hear from him sent message wed no response then another Thursday he finally responded said that his employee had a death out of state so I was like ok sorry to hear that.(then found out it was a lie and he was on vacation) Said it would be following tuesday june 8th which him and his guy showed up was hear roughly 45 minutes and left said would need to get parts and be back thursday showed up then was hear 1.5 to 2 hours and left again said problem with his equipment would be back friday came again was here another 1.5 to 2 hours left again this after he promised would give me a discount and have ac on by friday mind u it was 90 plus degrees outside. So now saturday come brings 2 guys hear about 6 hours in which walter leaves and expects them to do it all contact him tells me his guy can turn it all on again 90 plus degrees his guys leave with the unit still not on. call walter upset because still not done he tells me that he is gonna knock 500 off and gonna show up on sunday morning to get the ac on and will finish furnace work by end of week. However when showed up Sunday morning had his guy loading his trailer up when i walk outside and says well im not gonna give you the 500 off so either you can accept that or were leaving. Now we are 3 weeks in I remind you so I told him to leave I would find someone else to finish the job. During inspect and new quote to finish found out that they had used some existing duct work under my house instead of replacing it all like we had talked about also have duct work laying on the ground under that house so very disappointed with services received and yet the job was no where near finished properly not to mention now have to pay another company to come and fix issues and get system up and running."

FAQs for gas piping projects in West Lafayette, IN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
