"So far so good - we havent' had any water since the work was done.  I was very happy with the salesman (Chris D.) as well as the crew who spent two days working the issue (Joe H. and TJ).  Everyone was so pleasant to work with and they really took the time to explain in detail the process and how it would work.  They did not try to "upsell" me on a large basement system as we really needed to address this issue before we would really know if there was a problem.  Some other companies did try the upsell while ignoring the gaping hole in the ground. <br /> I cannot speak highly enough of my process with BWN, from the first estimate through my many questions through completion of work.  I almost cancelled the first appointment because of my other experriences with basement waterproofers - I just didn't think they were the company to address my issue.  When I called to cancel they said they really would like to come out - and I am so glad they did. <br /> We are having some major melting now and so far no water.  I will be keeping my eye on it - if we do get water BWN will be my first call! <br /> <br />"

"In January of this year, my wife and I decided we needed to transform our finished basement to an inhabitable living area. That would require adding a bathroom and an egress window for â emergency escapeâ . We hired a contractor for the bathroom and began the research on egress windows. As we were anxious to move ahead ASAP, I began contacting companies that installed egress windows. We had a couple of reps come out, look at our basement, discuss the process and quote prices. Estimates ranged from $8000 to $12000. Most had 2 things in common. 1} They could not schedule the job until somewhere in May or June as â windowsâ wouldnâ t be available until then. 2) Any â finishingâ work (necessary sheet rock and trim) would be extra as they did not do that. In March, I happened upon a copy of a regional advertising magazine (Clipper) which came in our mail. In it was an advertisement for â Basement Gurusâ . Since we still hadnâ t made a commitment for the work, I gave them a call. After discussing the job with them, I came to conclusion to go with â Basement Gurusâ . There were five reasons why I made this decision. 1) It appeared to me, based on reviews, the company had a good reputation. 2) The fact that they had windows in stock. This would move job completion date up significantly over what I had been told by at least three other companies. 3) The price. 4) Excavation would be done manually eliminating the possibility of damage to my neighborâ s lawn. 5) Sheetrock and finishing included. Our egress window project (install/follow up sheetrock/trim) was completed on time. Three workers came to our home for the install. They completed the window in three days. Very efficient, professional. Our township inspector came out a few days later and said â all looked goodâ . Also, John the sheetrock/trim person told me he had done a number of egress finishes. He said this one, as opposed to some heâ d seen, looked really good. The sheetrock and trim was completed in one day. An egress window is a big job. They make alterations to your homeâ s foundation! All in all, Basement Gurus did an awesome job! We now have a really nice â livableâ basement adding significant value to our home. Basement Gurus gets my full recommendation! "Bobby and the Fortress Techs were very professional, considerate, and thorough. The difference we feel from the crawl space insulation from before to after is amazing. Within just a day or two that musty smell in the house that was coming from the crawl space was gone! Bobby kept us informed throughout the entire process and finished the project on time. I would highly recommend Fortress Foundations Solutions to everyone; we were extremely satisfied with the outcome and the high quality customer service we received."

"Rich, the owner, was prompt in coming to give estimates and even came out once more when we found the 2nd crack so that it all could be checked out and repaired at the same time. He clearly explained his recommendations and helped us know to replace our basement windows (with a different company) before his company came to do the other work. Ann, his GM, was also great to work with and fielded several questions we had. The company repaired the large cracks inside and outside of the house, digging down to the footers to make sure they got whole cracks repaired and waterproofed. The cracks were repaired with mortar and coated with epoxy inside, and the outside cracks were repaired and coated with tar and plastic sheeting. Our job ended up taking longer than estimated due to lots of groundwater, clay, a pipe to dig around, and finding some concrete buried near one window that they had to jackhammer (2 days instead of 1), but the men who came out to do the job were courteous, hardworking, and kept me informed as the work was completed. It has rained a couple of times since they have done the repairs, and so far it has been great not to have water coming in near the windows or coming down the wall anymore!"

"Our estimator pointed out that there were holes from termite treatments in our foundation that were likely causing the water infiltration and advised against performing any work at this point beyond plugging the holes ourselves. I am very grateful for their helpfulness and honesty. The price they quoted if we need work done in the future was also very fair. It also only took one day to get an estimate from the time I called!"

"I was referred to B-Dry by a friend after I had several people provide erroneous opinions and diagnoses for a water problem in my basement.  I even received an erroneous diagnosis from someone I had found on Angie's List, and was so grateful for his suggestions that I gave him a stellar review.  At least he was honest enough to not allow me to hire him for a job that he was not equipped to perform.   <br /> Turns out that the diagnoses and suggestions I received prior to B-Dry coming to my home, would not have solved the problem, which actually stemmed from a blocked drainpipe into which the water feed tube coming from my humidifier was draining.  The sad thing is that I had suggested to the first service professional, an HVAC technician, that it might be the heating system or the humidifier, but after checking, he convinced me that the water was coming from the opposite direction, and possibly from outside.  I was right and he was wrong, but he was the professional and I took his word.   <br /> Eventually a friend suggested B-Dry, and they were very prompt in sending a certified inspector, Brad Hopkins, to evaluate my situation at a time that was convenient to me.  Brad quickly analyzed the situation and identified the problem as the result of the backed-up drain and the constantly flowing water coming from the humidifier water feed tube.  Once I turned off the humidifier, the water stopped.   <br /> Brad did not charge me for his diagnosis, and his knowledge and ability to assess the situation surpassed that of anyone who had surveyed the problem during the seven weeks of siege.  I highly recommend B-Dry, and I am especially grateful to Brad Hopkins. <br />"

"Before hiring LevelLift, I contacted a friend of mine who owns a Structural Engineering firm, but only work commercial not residential.  So after receiving at least (5) estimates, we agreed that LevelLift was the company to hire.    <br /> Met with Paul Mauer of Levelift Systems, he was very nice, patient and professional along with his team.  Received a proposal for the work noted below: <br /> The work in the basement  included but not limited too grout beneath concrete, excavate & installed timber walls, <br /> raise window well & installed standard home-improvement store grade cover, raise grade, furnished & installed discharge pipes for down spouts, installed seven steel beams, new interior drainage, repaired damaged mortar joints, installed 12" high cast-in-place concrete curb between steel beams and they took care of all the Montgomery County permits and inspections.  In addition, mobilization, site preparation and  furnished & installed discharge pipe for sump pump. <br /> In addition, Paul recommended a very good Structural Engineer to take care of the structural drawings. <br /> The contract payment terms were broken down into four payments with the option of using major credit cards and we have a ten (10) year warranty. <br /> Paul and his team were very responsive, punctual, and professional and the quality of the work was excellent.  We have not had any problems in the basement since 2013.  They are highly recommended. FAQs for concrete foundation repair projects in Westminster, MD

Visible cracks, water leaks, uneven floors, or walls that won’t line up are classic red flags. You might also notice sticking windows, doors that no longer latch, or exterior cracks crawling up brick or siding. Even a damp, musty basement can hint at trouble. If you spot any of these, call a foundation pro right away. Early inspections cost far less than waiting until the damage threatens your home’s stability.

Yes, foundation problems impact your home’s value. Buyers want proof that the foundation is stable, and a recent, professional repair can actually boost confidence in your home. You’ll need to disclose the work, but documentation showing the structure was properly stabilized, especially with piers in regions known for shifting soil, often reads as a plus, not a problem. Skipping repairs, on the other hand, can cut your sale price and shrink the pool of interested buyers. Taking care of the issue protects both value and peace of mind.

Foundations are engineered for exceptional longevity when constructed correctly and maintained diligently. Concrete slab foundations remain structurally sound for 200 years, while other foundation types deliver integrity between 75 and 100 years. Regular professional inspections and timely maintenance further secure a foundation’s lifespan and ensure your home stays safe over the long term.
