"We recently had central air installed and needed to get rid of the former through the wall air conditioning units. When we first contacted Tom, he said he was booked through October, but he would come out and give us a quote. We made the appointment for the quote and he came as promised, looked at the work to be done and said he'd be able to do everything from AC removal to patching and final paint. He worked up a quote and e-mailed it to us within 24 hours. As we were not expecting the work to be done until mid-October, it was a pleasant surprise to hear from him in late September asking if it was a good time to start the job. He was very prompt and showed up when he said he would. He was also very meticulous about his work, cleaning up the work areas each day and hauled away the old AC units for us. The work was completed over the course of a week as he applied several layers of spackle which needed to dry fully before further application or paint. The walls look fantastic and you would't know that we used to have AC units as his work was seamless. We also had a small drywall repair job that we added when Tom arrived and he took care of it for us without additional charge. We plan to hire him again for future projects in our house and will recommend him to others."

Alan's crew arrived promptly and performed all the work carefully, removed and returned items on the deck and porch. The entire work was performed to our satisfaction. "When my roof started leaking I began the arduous task of getting estimates for a new roof. After getting a number of estimates from most of the minor and major roofing companies serving Orange County NY, I was not impressed. Most of the larger companies were expensive and the owner is not involved in the installation. The smaller companies had no website or did not belong to the Better Business Bureau. I also received a couple of estimates from home improvement companies which although they had much lower estimates, they were not accredited with the shingle manufacturer which could void the warranty. As a last resort I called Luna Siding and Roofing, Inc. Their salesman Sam came out the next day and I explained to him I did not need the whole sales pitch about the shingles which I had heard a number of times already. He explained to me that the owner is on site throughout the roof installation. Sam did not give me an estimate on the spot which all of the other contractors previously had. A day or two later I received a detailed estimate of the work to be done with a ton of additional information. I was also impressed with the fact that I was given a 48 hour discounted price which helped to expedite my decision. After doing some research of the company as well as requesting photos of actual work that they had done, I signed a contract. To my luck they had an immediate opening. Within a few days after sending a deposit, the owner Rolando and his crew arrived 7am in the morning and immediately went to work. Unfortunately for me the roof sheathing had two problems, it was only 3/8 inch plywood and portions of the roof exposed to direct sunlight all day had melted the shingles onto the plywood which was impossible to remove. After doing some quick online research and talking to Rolando, I decided to have the entire roof sheathing replaced with 1/2 inch plywood. Although it was unexpected expense, I do not believe in being penny wise and dollar foolish as the saying goes, putting a new roof over questionable roof sheathing could lead to very expensive problems later which the shingle manufacturer may not cover. Rolando was also flexible with allowing me to pay a small balance in the near future after the holidays. The crew worked throughout the day and were completed by 4 in the afternoon. The yard was completely cleaned and the roof looked great. I would highly recommend Luna Siding and Roofing to friends and family."

That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

I reached out to Harold based on his listing on Angie's List before I bought my home--free of charge, he took a look at the roof on a property I was considering buying--giving me an estimate and advice. His help led me to find that the sellers were dishonest about the condition of and work done on their roof, and I purchased a different property in Hudson, NY. My home is a 1927 Craftsman that needed quite a bit of work. I hired Harold based on his honesty and responsiveness in helping me evaluate the first property. True to form, his estimate and ultimate cost to repaint the entire interior, repair and sheetrock floors and ceilings, refinish and replace hardwood floors, completely remodel a bathroom, rewire and install light fixtures, match original woodworking, install cabinetry, windows, and appliances, and even assist with installing new furniture, were more than reasonable. Better yet, the quality of his work was of the highest caliber. He has restored and improved a lovely home, and I am so thankful! I have to say that most of all, I am so happy with Harold's professionalism and diligence. Not every contractor is known for staying on the job and completing it on time. Especially in my situation, where I am a single woman trying to restore a second home when I live out of state--I assumed I would have difficulty in getting any contractor to be present and complete the job on time. However, this was never a problem. Harold was always there, was immediately responsive, and never slacked off when I wasn't there. I plan to work with Harold as much as possible in the future as I continue to improve my Hudson home. I recommend him very highly."
