"<p>They showed up on time and he was obviously competent and professional in his dealings. He brought plenty of samples for us to look at.  He has gotten very busy. Hurricane Matthew put him way behind so he has not been as responsive as I would have liked, but I think that is the situation. When he told me he was going to be here at a certain time he was here at a certain time. </p>"

"Without a hitch. The owner Hooshang gave us an initial estimate from a photo then came and gave us a detailed quote. Agreed on a start date and job time. Both done as planned. He and his helper are professional, neat and courteous. Price was in line with other quotes. The workmanship is excellent. You will need to have any drywall repair and staining done by another contractor as Hooshang is the stairmaster."

"Matt was prompt with his response to our request for an estimate. He worked within the rates provided by the penny pinching insurance company. He stayed in contact with us throughout the two month long project. He took a bare stud and concrete gutted basement and turned it back into a great living space. He was flexible as our plans changed. The guy is a true jack of all trades. The project took longer than we wanted, but not all of the delay was the contractor's fault. He was also amenable to our expectations that minor defects be fixed. <br /> We intend to employ him again to work around our home. <br />"

"Ray and his team did an awesome job replacing our deck! We collected three estimates from various companies and C&R’s estimate was by far the best value. We were very impressed by the quality of the work. They worked with the county to get the permits and inspections completed and were very efficient. We felt like we got a superb quality deck for much less than other Northern Virginia contractors were charging. I am glad we chose to go with this family-owned business. It felt like we got the product we wanted for a reasonable price and didn’t get “the run around” that larger contractors give you. Our neighbors have given us so many compliments on our new deck! Would definitely recommend them to others!"

"<p>I interviewed 5 contractors before selecting Jim Hicks and his group.  Jim came across as honest and forthright, I did not get a sales pitch.  He listened to what I wanted and came back with a fair quote.  It wasn't the least expensive, and it wasn't the highest.  He took the time to meet with us twice before we could decide.  </p> <p>After selecting him, he set us up with his general contractor, Justin.  I felt comfortable working with Justin from the very start.  He made himself accessible to me at all times, by phone, text or email.  He constantly kept me in the loop on what was happening when, which team would be working, and worked harm to make sure we were inconvenienced as little as possible.  He took time to explain what was being done, in what order, and why.  His teams; the engineer, brick workers, framers, and drywall installers were all very professional.  They all worked together, and showed respect for each other, Justin, and our home.  One structural issue came up, and Justin halted work immediately until it could be addressed and resolved. We have a steel home, so attaching the roof presented some challenges.  He continually worked hard to make sure I was getting what I wanted and worked with me on designing and deciding on details as they came up.  Justin paid very close attention to details so that the finished project was correct, many of which I wouldn't have thought of, or known enough to ask. </p> <p>The project from start to finish took from April to October, came within a couple thousand of the original quote (because of some added features) and I am thrilled with the results.  In order to save money, we requested to do the finishing work ourselves; trim work, tiling, door frames, painting, etc..  They were very flexible, working with our requests, and did everything they could to make our work easy and offered helpful suggestions along the way.  </p> <p>The room is beautiful, exactly what I wanted.  It works seamlessly with the rest of the home, and doesn't look like an addition.  We will definitely use them again if another project comes up. </p> <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Wytheville, VA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
