"We had a contract on a house that had significant issues identified in the home inspection. We had asked Harwich Port to evaluate the HVAC system and provide us with information related to repair/replacement of home inspection issues. They were amazing and thorough. Unfortunately that house sale did not happen; but we are currently in contract negotiations with another house. Because of their responsiveness and follow through we are definitely keeping their contact information. Thank you for helping us."

"Bob had done a similar install for a friend of ours who recommended him.  We'd received a couple of quotes, and Bob's was the most competitive.   <br /> The work was done on time and on budget.  We got a clean inspection by the Town. <br /> A day or two after the furnace started running, I noticed a minor bit of condensation which Bob sealed immediately.  So, I can vouch for his follow-on as well. <br /> We are very pleased with our new furnace and recommend Bob's company to our neighbors."

"Very easy to make the appointment. They called several hours ahead of the scheduled time to make sure we were still on. They (2 men) arrived at the time agreed, were very pleasant and knowledgable. We explained the problems and they provided their suggestions. We agreed on the work to be done and they proceeded to do it. They were well organized, highly professional, exceptionally neat and clean, and accomplished the job in about an hour and a half. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Edgartown, MA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
