For 30 minutes of work I paid $1,100.00 in labor and I could have purchased the water heater for $1,300.00 online but it wouldn't get warrantied unless it was bought directly from the plumber. Therefore, I paid $2,400.00 for the water heater."

I was concerned about the water heater anode since the water heater is 8 years old. The technician asked about the water coming from the water heater and smells or colorization of the hot water. It was decided the anode is fine at this time. Due to my flushing the water heater every 6 months that probably will extend the life of the anode. The technician, whose name was Jacob, asked about any other plumbing issues I knew about that might needed attention. I was given estimates for making the needed repairs by email in the early afternoon. They do good work but expect that it will cost more than some plumbing companies."
