"Hired them to check out a collapsed line in my crawlspace. It was gross. The guy they sent never went into the crawlspace, yet they somehow knew it would cost $3500. Then they came back, and told me I needed a new main line. Ok, so another $1843 tacked on. They then, after I've signed off on the above jobs, tell me I have to hire a mitigation company to clean the crawl, so another $3000. Fast forward a few months after work completion, and now the 20% of sewer pipe that they didn't replace (but tied into) has failed. I'll never understand why they wouldn't have suggested replacing it all at the time, seeing as how it would have been more money for their company. They were horrible with communication, and have insinuated that I'm a lyer multiple times. I see they're ok with small jobs, but I wouldn't hire them to make me a cheeseburger at this point. Funny enough, my sister-in-law is having a similar problem, and I got to steal her away from calling this company. That's the price they'll pay for being as unprofessional as any company I've come into contact with."

"Install went good and on time in the summer of 2014. Problem is, we've had this company out every year since to fix something on the unit. Never show up on time. Never fix the unit right, only put band aids on the issue. I really feel like they have no clue what is going on and their knowledge level is just good enough to get you in trouble. Really surprised they were rated an A on Angie's List. They've been nothing but a F for this home owner."

"I live in a mobile home, I called Franks Plumming to install a new bathtub. My current tub had a crack in the fiberglass, So that’s the reason I needed a new one. We paid cash money when the job was done. To make a long story short the bathtub was not installed correctly. The bathtub was uneven, Causing water to sit in the bathtub to the left of the drain, also the cocking used to seal the bathtub to the plastic walls for the shower would crack in the caulking causing water to run to the floor beneath the bathtub, the drain caulking would also not dry correctly and would crack causing water to leak to the sub flooring. All because the bathtub was uneven and not installed correctly. We had Franks Plumming to come out three different times to fix the issue. On the third time the guy told us we would continue to have the problem due to the bathtub sitting on the uneven floor. When asked about this Franks Plumming told us that the floor should have been replaced before the bathtub was installed. (I know nothing about Plumming or flooring) Franks Plumming told us that fixing the floor was not in the price for the tub installation. Money is not an object and we paid Franks around 4,000 to have the new bathtub installed. Why wouldn’t we pay the extra 250 to 500 dollars more to have the floor replaced and everything done correctly. Franks Plumming would not fix the issue causing us to go threw another company to fix the floor and to replace the bathtub and make it even and not leak water. I would not recommend Franks Plumming to anyone. We also filed a complaint with the BBB. Franks always mentions they have the best customer service. Well in our case we were out around 10,000 for Franks Plumming mistake and the new company. Please be aware of Franks Plumming and the warranty they will not make good on.... thanks for your time in reading this. Sincerely Benjamin LaRue Henderson, KY"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Evansville, IN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
