"After requesting info from Howell's Appliance Repair one evening, we got a phone call almost immediately. We were able to schedule a consultation for later that week. Come install day, we had a pretty big install in our basement. The team from Howell's showed up on time and installed some new gas pipe/extended an existing end of one in our basement and routed it toward the street to finally give us a working gas dryer. Even though the service was mainly for the gas line work, they were generous in their time and hooked up all the water plugs to the washer as well to make sure we had working facilities when they left. "They say when it rains, it pours.  When we were making way for our old gas burner to be removed and the new one brought into our basement (see review of our new furnace and air conditioner from 02/04/2013), we noticed water on the floor under a crate I store new detergent in.  It seems the flange on the toilet had cracked and occasionally water was running down through the crack.  Again, Murphy's to the rescue.  While checking the leak, they also noticed our tub drain had cancer.  So we figured we might as well get that done, and replace the fixtures on the shower and the sink in the bathroom. We have a  4 inch cast iron drain pipe and Ed, a master plumber, used the old method of melting lead for the repair of the flange on the toilet and in replacing the shower drain.  That is what a master plumber should do!  Actually, we don't know how water was even running through the shower drain pipe. Ed was exactly on time, was pleasant, courteous and above all professional.  Ed did a fantastic job.  After the fixtures were all replaced, it now looks like we have a new bathroom and no more leaking water into the basement.
