"Nick Conte & his crew are excellent!!! We have used them before so when we were getting our home ready to put on the market & needed some misc. work done such as fixing a leaky pipe, replacing a kitchen sink faucet, repairing a shower sprayer and fixing a broken handle on the bathtub faucet, I called Nick. Walter, who has been with Nick Conte for many years and a really nice guy, came over to review what needed to be done & gave us solid advice and proceeded to meticulously repair a pretty long list of items. They are very trustworthy and I highly recommend them."

"Cesar and his team are Excellent!!!  They're very knowledgable and super nice too.   <br /> We bought a new gas dryer, but it wasn't able to be installed since the gas pipe was incorrect.  The delivery service personnel said that we needed to contact a plumber to correct the issue.  Cesar came to see what needed to be done and saw that the gas pipe needed to be extended since it was incorrect how it was initially setup.  He custom cut and installed the gas pipe to correctly extend it and corrected the setup.   <br /> Also, our dryer wasn't getting hot to dry the clothes.  He saw that the existing plastic PVC pipe that was used as the dryer vent had a huge long crack in it.  He replaced it and put in the correct aluminum vent.  He corrected the mistakes of everything that was previously incorrect. <br /> Cesar definitely knows what he's doing.  I highly recommend him and his team.  We'll definitely be going to him for all future plumbing. <br />"

"40 years in an all-electric house and I couldn't take the discomfort and outrageous bills any longer. Gas line came up the street years ago and my dream was to connect and redo my 2 story house: boiler, HW heater, piping and new baseboards throughout. 3 plumbers were recommended by friends. After weeks of no-shows, no-calls returned and excuses, I turned to Angie's List. Palmasano Plumbing stood out with all its A ratings and Excellent reviews. I called one day at lunchtime and by dinnertime, Dave Palmasano was at my house. I have no basement and always thought a heat system would have to go in my garage. Dave said he could fit a 95% efficient combination boiler in my hallway closet. Not knowing anything about these units, I was skeptical at first. But over a few phone calls, Dave patiently explained how they worked. His high level of expertise was obvious with each call. I was sold, and Dave was hired. I was worried PSE&G would charge a hefty fee to connect to my house which was far from the street. Dave told me exactly how to fill out their BTU application in such a way as to minimize the chance of this -and guess what? No fee. This was a big job, but Dave and his crew made it look easy. All work was done neatly, in a timely manner and on budget. Communicating with Dave was never a problem either. He picked up all the permits and was on-site for all inspections. He even filed My NJ energy rebate application and in April, I'll get a Federal energy tax credit. Now I'm enjoying comfortable, even heat throughout my house, and unlimited, on-demand hot water. I expect to cut my utility bills in half- maybe more. Dave's motto is: "If my customers are happy, then I'm happy." Well, I couldn't be happier with my new heat system and I'm so glad I found a new plumber who is a true professional. Thanks Dave!"

"When I contacted Biondi, I was connected with his answering service; I did not get a call back the same day, but when I called again the next day, I was called back promptly. In order to have someone present at home when he came, we had to coordinate schedules, and he gave me his cell phone number so that we could do so. As soon as an inspection was done on his previous job, he came, installed the gas line, and moved the stove back in place by himself (a formidable task, given a 50 year old six-burner model!) He was courteous and professional."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Newark, NJ

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
