"The plumber was professional and courteous. The solution turned out to be a simple caulk job, however I was pleased in that they did not try to rip me off by stating other issues. I did however feel that they were priced on the slightly higher side, however quality does come at a price. I also appreciated the fact that they were the only one who responded to my service magic request and were able to schedule a next day appointment over the weekend."

"After buying a new refrigerator, Home Depot told me I needed a plumber to run a new water line to the refrigerator. I was not happy with the Home Depot tech that called me. The plumber, Dave, arrived soon after I called Harris and did a phenomenal job! He was friendly, professional and worked quickly. Thank you, Dave, and Harris Plumbing!!"

"Outstanding Service from Mike from “My Plumber” Mike is the Real Deal—Reliable, Honest, and Always There When You Need Him Good help is hard to find, but Mike? He’s the best. I called him about an issue with our water heater and low water pressure in the first-floor bathroom—20 minutes later, he was at my door. Not only did he fix everything fast, but he wouldn’t even take a dime for it. Mike is straight-up hardworking and honest. He shows up when he says he will, does the job right, and actually looks out for people. He’ll tell you what’s needed, help you save money, and never tries to upsell you. He’s not just a great plumber—he’s like family. If you need someone you can trust, Mike’s your guy."

"My husband found Mark to be so accommodating with us in every way.  We were concerned about the cost and he allayed our fears as best he could, however stating that until the situation was assessed underground, it was impossible to truly know the extent of the problem.  Randy came out with a contractor, and they began to dig up the area, trying their best to keep as much landscaping as possible intact.  They found multiple problems with the original construction of the house.  There was a piece of tubing that connected the whole line to the house, and it was never glued together, but rather pushed together, dating the problem back to 2001.  The sewage had been seeping underground into our front yard for a long time.  Randy replaced this piece appropriately as well as the piping that had buckled that led out of the home.  This occurred because no one properly supported the pipes with materials so that this problem wouldn't happen.  They made sure that they put the necessary gravel where it was needed under the new pipes before placing the dirt back.  Once I knew it was a huge job but not sure of how much financially it would cost, I asked Randy if we could make a second payment the following week if it was over $1300.  He called Mark and Mark agreed.  I found this to be immensely accommodating and remarkable for a company.  In the end, we were fortunate that the damage was not as extensive as it appeared it would be.  I cannot say enough positive things about this company and Mark and Randy.  They waived the diagnostic fee and tried to keep things as cheap as possible.  I know because I watched every step.  In addition, the contractor they used cut off an hour of his work fee.  We had used another plumber in the past, and their estimated fee for the service was way over what we were told by Mark.  And Mark and Randy worked very hard to keep the estimate even lower than what they initially guessed.  My husband and I consider ourselves very blessed to have chosen the right company to help us with our home crisis.  I had read the reviews on Angie's List and felt that we should call them.  I am so happy we did. <br />"

"I can't say enough nice things about Ed Harvey. He is very knowledgeable about steam heat and he may be the nicest person I have ever met, although his wife Bonnie is a close second. He always answers his phone personally. We had an issue with our steam radiators spewing water on Christmas Eve. When we called him, he answered his phone at 8pm Dec. 24, told us what to do and rang our doorbell to fix it at 8am on Christmas Day. <br /> The conversion of our burner from oil to natural gas took a long time, but he kept us informed at each step. Our chimney wasn't able to handle the exhaust, and it wasn't repairable, so he came up with a different solution which has worked wonderfully. <br /> Really, I have never enjoyed my contact with a home repair expert as much as with Mr. Harvey. My only complaint was that I had to call them two or three times to get them to send us the invoice! <br />"

"John was very punctual and provided me with explanations of what he saw as he progressed.  He vacuumed any accumulated dust on the surfaces, including rust particles on the burner baffles and those shaken loose during the removal of the baffles.    <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Wilmington, DE

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
