"Mike was very professional and knowledgeable. He came out, surveyed the house and discussed my options and the work to be performed. His proposal was done on-site within about 5 to 10 minutes. After he gave me the proposal, he asked about staining my decks (I was going to do it myself and the materials were sitting on the porch). I advised him I was going to do it after I returned from vacation. He offered to take care of it for me, along with the painting, for no additional charge.
After I received a quote from a competitor (he knew who I had called w/o me telling him), I accepted his quote. Mike was out the next day (Friday) and power-washed the house. He returned the following Monday and painted the house and stained the deck.
While Mike impressed me with his professionalism and quick response - he's got very good customer service skills - I'm a little disappointed in the work due to the fact he didn't scrape and clean up the paint that had chipped away. If I had to do it again, I would make sure this was a part of the deal.
It may be partly my fault for not making it 100% clear this was part of my expectations. However, at the same time, I also feel he could have brought it up as well. For the price he charged, I really can't complain too much, considering he came in $2400.00 below his competitor (who didn't mention painting and scraping either) and the house looks good except for chipped sections.
No matter - i would still use him again - and will.
As a side-note, I found out Mike has other connections for handyman work and I'll more than likely go through him just simply because he's gained my trust.

He certainly could have stood to make more money by just going with our original plan to repair the existing slab garage foundation, but he instead told us what he would do if it were his home. "We purchased the unlimited consultation package. Amanda is very friendly and professional. We struggled because we were looking for someone to consult with out of the box ideas. Once she understood our vision she could move forward, but innovation was not her strength. We paid an additional amount for drawings. These were detailed, and while not all changes were made as requested, we were able to get some value from them. In hindsight, I would not pay $99 for drawings. Any cabinet retailer will do these for you for free, which I did not know until afterwards. The company wants you to spend time telling them about your style, which ours is Country French. The first cabinet rendition we received was black expresso. We did a complete kitchen tear out so this may work fine for smaller jobs or if you have done this before. It just didn't work for us with distance and what we needed. I was able to find someone locally that sold the cabinets we wanted and she was a wealth of information and things moved much faster. Good luck to HMD. It's a good idea and the person we dealt with we liked personally."

"Home Innovations Of Augusta responded to my inquiry almost immediately and set up a time to call the following week. After talking to them on the phone we quickly set up a time for them to come out and price the project. When they arrived, they were very polite and professional. I was not provided a quote but told that they would have to order new cabinet doors. Once Home Innovations Of Augusta got a price on the cabinet doors they would contact me again. That was the last I heard from them. One month after the initial call I sent a follow up message to see if they were going to be able to do the project or not. I again got a prompt reply saying they would look into why i hadn't received a quote. That was the last I heard from them. As my initial conversation and meeting with Home Innovations Of Augusta seemed to go well I had high hopes of some quality work but being completely ignored has changed my opinion. If Home Innovations Of Augusta had continued to act in a professional manner I would have had no issue with contracting them for the work and recommending them to others. As it is you will have to rely on other reviews of actual work completed."
