"We recently hired Serenity Pools to build our in-ground swimming pool and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the entire process was smooth and professional. They took the time to understand our vision, gave great suggestions, and kept us in the loop every step of the way. The quality of work is outstanding and the pool looks amazing. They left the site clean each day and finished on schedule. We highly recommend them to anyone looking to build a pool."

"We had been planning a "major" pool renovation since we bought our house back in 2009. We got quotes from five different pool contractors and I am, very happy that I decided to have JD do our pool renovations. I do not believe that any other company would have done what I wanted, come out nearly as nice or been as reasonably priced. As we went along we added things to the project and JD always priced these additions very reasonably and sometimes at no additional charge, where I feel that some of the other contractors I got quotes from would have stuck it to me. We pretty much had a whole new pool (approx. 17,500 SqFt, irregularly shape) put in and extended the shallow end a lot to accommodate a large shallow tanning deck area (which some contractors would not even quote to do). To start with JD workers demolitioned and removed the old broken very uneven concrete deck throughout the entire yard. JD replaced both skimmers, replastered (Diamond Brite - Super Blue), replaced all the tile, coping and all the deck around the pool with Travertine. He installed approximately 870 SqFt of ivory French pattern travertine coping and deck around not only the entire pool, but around the entire yard including up the side walls a bit and around the canopy posts. He replaced all the PVC pipes with larger 2" diameter PVC and put in a new filtering system (Pentair cartridge system), new larger pump (Pentair variable speed 3 HP), added a long wall (~26 feet) with three sheer decents and left room behind the wall for plants. Behind the wall he added new dirt, two electrical outlets and a water faucet. He also installed three interior color changing LEDs to go with the three-color changing sheer decents. He added an internal under water bench that connects to the tanning deck where people can sit. On the shallow tanning deck he installed three bubblers (my favorite item) and made custom risers for the bubblers so that they would not stick up if not wanted, but allowed the water to come out near the top of the water line so that they would bubble at a good height which is very adjustable. These custom risers allow me to adjust the height of the three bubbles (more like fountains) above the waterline, from 0" to over 10 feet! The tanning deck also has a hole for an umbrella. He put valves on "every" PVC pipe, so I can control the flow level of each inlet and outlet from off to full on. Each sheer decent has its own valve as well as the bubblers and internal inlets, drain, Polaris fountain and each skimmer. We kept our prior pump and our Polaris booster pump so we have three pumps (variable speed Pentair 3 HP and the two others) and have them setup so we can run or not run certain fountains, sheer decents, bubblers or run them all so that everything is running full blast. I suggest you decide in advance how many pumps you will need and what pumps connect to what so it can be properly segmented in advance. No other contractor quoted new skimmers, when it as obvious they would be needed after the demolition. Nor, did they mention replacing the PVC with larger 2" diameter PVC that was needed to accommodate the new fountains and that JD did without asking for additional money! Nor did any of the other contractors mention replacing my old 70's sand filter which was in bad shape with a new cartridge filter system. I am pretty sure they would have mentioned these things later, after I was under a contract and they could hit me up. JD had his workmen added a long tan drainage channel down the side of the entire yard and modified the roof gutter down pipes to go under the travertine. He added an automatic water leveling system (like toilet fill and drain system) so that I no longer have to run a hose out to add water. He cut custom travertine skimmer covers so the two skimmer and water leveling system blend in with the deck. He tiled the sheer decent wall with tile that I picked out from Floor & Decor that blended in nicely with our fence color. He even edged around the inside of the coping just above our new tile with this same wall tile which gave it a nice transitional unique design. He re-installed my existing salt system and added a chlorinator so I have the option to use either. He had the pool full of water and ready for swimming by mid-April. The total price came in at $51k. I recommend that if you are doing a serious amount of work and want your pool ready by April or May that you start as soon as possible (like in October/November) so that no one is rushed. I am very glad I went with JD and recommend him highly, provided you have patience. I did not rush him because my priority was a quality outcome and I felt the price quoted was very reasonable and because I know it can be difficult to deal with laborers. "I was searching Home Warranty providers after a bad experience with my 7 year, soon to be terminated "former" Fidelity Home Warranty service provider. Warranty service providers are essential, for they step in and "act" when life deals you an "Oh Crap" situation like your refrigerator suddenly quits. Every high dollar appliance in a home has a life span that will end whether your prepared for it or not. It's a common occurance that leads to unexpected higher debt concerns while you frantically attempt to save your food from going bad. Got a minimum of $1,700 to get a new one? A truck or a really good friend to borrow theirs to pick it up? Plus time to allow it to achieve proper temperature to transfer your temp sensitive food! Well if you haven't experienced this type of event, in your life, you will! I began by doing some easy research online like searching for best Home Warranty providers. I put some inquiries out to prospective providers and as expected, the sales calls began to ring on my phone. They all have why "they" are the best provider - so take notes and compare policies. Ask whether they cover swimming pools, septic systems, roof repairs etc. So my phone rings with an out-of-state area code and it's Zach from Choice Home Warranty. While on the call, this enthusiastic salesman hit all the "trigger" items I was looking for; *Annual Service Price *Price per claim deductable *Response time You know, all the "need to know" info that helps you make an informative decision. I started paying $550/year 7 years ago in 2014 with my old service provider. The per claim fee was $65. Today in 2022, it's $710/year and $85/claim. Was it worth it you ask? If I figure the math, my total cost over 7 years and only 4 claims was $4,450 or $636/year. This cost paid to replace my pools salt cell and chlorine generator ($1,800 in parts alone), 2 separate Air Conditioner repairs which replaced the coil fan motor, a circuit board replacement, system coil cleansing, relays and a capacitor. (No idea of how much my total cost would have been. I paid $65 twice. Nice huh?) 1 roof repair that replaced the "Cricket", which is a 15' roof section elevational change just below the ridge line. It's important to remember that these repairs don't include "hidden costs" which are personnel and service labor rates. Something you will pay for without a Warranty Service. Here's the best part of the call from this AWESOME salesman. He offered me 6 year "fully transferable", rate locked for life" service policy that when divided out by 6 is LESS THAN WHAT I WAS PAYING ANNUALLY, 7 YEARS AGO!!! So, is a Home Warranty plan a safe bet??? I have a 9 word answer for those without a Choice Home Warranty service plan. YOU BET YOUR DRIPPING SWEATY BUTT CRACK IT IS!!! Props to Zach, YOU DA MAN!!! "AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"We are very pleased with the service provided by Jennifer through Able Home Improvements. She arrived promptly on Monday, November 11th at 9:00 a.m. Although I had not made a final decision on the colors, she proceeded to prepare the rooms for painting.  After some discussion, I purchased the paint and she began. Jennifer was very meticulous and precise with her work.  She was courteous, insightful, friendly and timely (she completed the job on November 15). I appreciate the care that she took with the job as though she were painting her own home.  She also took time to clean up after herself, and left things very orderly.  If I ever hired Able again, which is quite possible, I would definitely request Jennifer first. She actually LIKES to paint.

"I called the Hurricane Fence and spoke with Martina. She came and met with me for an estimate. I called several weeks later and set up a date to go over the project with her. We met, discussed the job, and gave her a deposit.. The poles were installed and the concrete was allowed to dry for a day due to a rainstorm. The fence was installed the third day. They were punctual, friendly, and completed the job as contracted. They were proud of their job as they should be. The fence looks beautiful. I would definitely recommend their services.

FAQs for swimming pool heaters repair or service projects in Abita Springs, LA

Replacing a pool heater costs $3,000 on average. Final pricing depends on the type of heater (gas, electric, or solar) and your pool's size. Factor for swimming pool repair costs, at an average of $3,800. When you start experiencing issues with your pool heater, other equipment and structural failures often follow. Installation is often the least expensive for electric and gas heaters. Heat pumps and solar panels often cost several thousand dollars more to install.

A pool heater’s lifespan is determined by its type and proper upkeep. Solar heaters last 20 to 25 years, electric heat pumps perform for five to 10 years, and gas heaters remain effective for 5 years. Regular pool maintenance safeguards performance and prevents premature failure. Ensuring that you adhere to a strict annual service schedule protects your investment and maintains consistent heating efficiency.

Depending on the size of your pool, location, climate, and current energy prices, you’ll spend up to $20 per hour to heat a pool using propane, $9 per hour using natural gas, and $1 to $2 per hour for a heat pump. Northern climates require more energy and can double the price. Standard estimates allow homeowners to easily estimate the cost of heating a pool for a month. Propane heaters, for example, are known to burn around 1 gallon per hour per 100,000 BTUs.

An electric or gas heat pump will take eight to 14 hours to heat a pool, while a solar heat pump takes 24 to 72 hours. Multiply the number of gallons by 8.34 to get your total pounds of water. Divide this figure by your heater's BTU rating to determine how many hours it takes to raise the water temperature by 1 degree Fahrenheit.

If your pool heater is not raising the water temperature to the desired level, the issue is caused by cold ambient conditions rather than a malfunction. The best solution is to install a solar cover that locks in heat and boosts efficiency. A solar cover costing $120 to $250 enhances heat retention, ensuring your heater performs at its peak. Additionally, verify that all settings—such as thermostat calibration and water circulation—are properly adjusted to support optimal heating.

Regular annual maintenance is crucial to keep your pool heater running efficiently and to avoid high repair costs. Investing $100 to $200 in yearly maintenance prevents issues such as excessive noise, surging energy bills, and malfunctioning controls. This proactive care not only prolongs your heater’s lifespan but also ensures reliable performance throughout the season. Always refer to your warranty guidelines to follow the required maintenance procedures.
