"Simmon's came in and helped us after pipes in an upstairs bathroom sprung a leak. They responded quickly, probed the ceiling with minimal impact, and found the root cause, a poor quality renovation where the previous contractor used mismatched materials that corroded after only a decade. They had us back online with our upstairs bathroom with intact plumbing within the day. We have also used them for other plumbing jobs and AC jobs. They are very good."

"On a positive note, I do have an oil burner service contract with them (about $300 per year), and when you need burner service, they are right there (very responsive) and have had situations where this has come in very handy, saving lots of money in repair costs.  They are very responsive with emergency services, but you will need to plan ahead for routine maintenance for appointment times.  However, I am unsure if I will sign up with them again next year with an oil delivery contract. <br />"

"Thank you for a great job you guys did replacing my old rusty oil tank. My experience was pleasant right from the beginning, when Steve showed up on time to inspect my old tank, getting a quote, and all the way to your crew actually replacing it. The crew was knowledgeable, were here when scheduled, and got the job done. Even though they were presented with some unknown technical challenges with my old tank and burner, they worked them all out. Great guys to watch work, and they did a great, neat job, especially considering how dirty of a job it really was. I have in the past, and will continue to recommend you to anybody I know that needs heating or AC work done! Merrill C., Stratham, NH"

"They are down the street. They were fantastic, and I would recommend them. They were good guys. They were thorough with the inspection, but they were very cool about everything. I drive by them frequently, so I just decided to stop by. If I had to refer them to someone, I would tell them not to judge a book by its cover. It looks cluttered with cars because they are busy and if one can squeeze in and get stuff done by them one is doing well. One guy told me they were going to be too busy, but the other guy told me to hold on and that they would get me in."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Acton, ME

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
