"I had them do the repair since the price didn't seem unreasonable, but at the time just wanted it fixed immediately. Asking around afterward, I think I could have gotten a slightly cheaper price, but these guys were very professional and their customer service and communication was top notch. I don't mind paying a wee bit more for great service compared to getting subpar service from the cheapest bid. Most of the time I find you get what you pay for. I will definitely call Doug Adams Well Drilling and Pump Repair the next time I have any well issues."

"They came out to put a furnace in.    They came in November I think, because I have had applied for home depot card.  I like to thank that I got a home depot card, because I am on disability.  In fact they were the last people that I asked to come out.  I have a drain service.  Their responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism were good.  I would use them again in the future if I decide to put an air-conditioner.  They were very courteous and everything.  It is nothing to do with them; it is the fact that my house is cold to me.  I had new windows put in, when I first moved in this house and it is still cold, maybe it is because of the new furnace that they put in.  They are nice.  They are right and everything, but I am just a cold natured person, so I think I have the wrong windows in here, but the people were excellent. They did a good job.  They just want something to be sturdy enough.  I can’t say anything negative about them; maybe it is new to me.  I was with so many people, people on Angie’s list and people I took off the phone book.  I didn’t know these people before and probably I was so afraid, because I was on disability.  I was able to get the home depot card which enabled me to have 18 months with no interest rate, that’s what got me to take them in the first place.  I just paid them for installing the furnace.  I did not have to pay the interest rate and not to have it to come right out of my pocket to pay the $2200."

"Went well to this point of replacing parts. Then the United needed to have a system leak test and then needed freon put in pump. This was refused by Choice warranty. We were left with a partial repair and a heat pump not able to do it's job."

"I had a big name waterproofing company out several years ago that did work on two walls of my house and continued to have problems with leaking. They did come back a few times and tried to repair but never could get it sealed properly. After paying a annual fee to keep a warranty for a problem they couldn't repair I decided to get a few contractors out and look to get another opionon. Buckeye Waterproofing was by far the most experienced of them and explained everything that was going on so I and my son-in-law could understand and make sense. They told me what was needed to be done to repair what previous company did and what would be needed for the rest of the house. After sitting with Rick from Buckeye I had decided to have them do the work because he made me feel so comfortable with the work he would be doing and gave me the best price of the quotes we had. Everyone else wanted to do start from scratch and do previous work I had done over while Rick explained he could repair the work and save me some money since I had already paid for work years ago. The crew Rick sent was prompt, clean and very respectful of my house and I was extremely satisfied with work they did. It has now been 2 months since the work was done and everything has been dry with no issues at all on the new work that was done or the repairs to the old work that the other waterproofing company did and couldn't figure out how to repair. I would highly recommend this company to anyone and have already sent them a friend to have work done as well.

FAQs for well pump repair or service projects in Akron, OH

A standard well inspection begins with a visual inspection of the pump, casing, storage tank, and wiring, followed by flow rate tests and laboratory-based water sampling. The goal is to confirm that every part meets safety standards and to identify any necessary repairs before they become expensive. An inspector will also test your water quality for substances such as volatile organic compounds and any local containment concerns.

Book a licensed, insured well specialist for your inspection. Many well‑pump contractors also hold inspection credentials. They’ll bring the right tools to assess the pump, wiring, and water quality, and provide you with a clear report on any necessary fixes. Before you hire, confirm their license, insurance, and recent customer reviews.

Plan on a full well inspection every year. You’ll also want one any time the cap comes off, after septic repairs, or if flooding occurs. Annual tests look for total and fecal coliform; every two years, the lab should screen for metals and nitrates, and every five years for VOCs and pesticides. If you’re buying a home with a private well, it’s essential to schedule a pre-purchase inspection.

With routine care, most wells supply clean water for up to 40 years. Lifespan depends on the type and how well you protect it. To help it reach the maximum lifespan, keep hazardous products far from the casing, ensure the cap stays sealed, schedule yearly inspections, and address problems as soon as they appear. Good habits keep the system healthy and the water safe.

The average cost of well repairs ranges from $100 to $2,800. Your final bill depends on which part—pump, pressure tank, casing, or piping—needs attention and the level of complexity involved in the repair. A thorough inspection identifies the problem, allowing you to budget accurately and avoid paying for unnecessary parts or services.
